Shen Liao (1032-1085) was born in Qiantang of Song Dynasty (now Yuhang). Shen Yu's younger brother is the brother of Shen Kuo, the author of MengXiBiTan. He was fond of reading Zuo Zhuan and Han Shu when he was young. Zeng Gong, Su Shi and Huang Tingjian often sang with them. Wang Anshi and Zeng Bu all learned their writing skills. Wang Anshi was once known as "romantic Xie Anshi, dashing Tao Yuanming". Later, Wu Chong, the envoy of the third division, recommended him to take charge of the internal Treasury.

At that time, the imperial court attached great importance to this position and took an important mission when they went out. Shen Liao used to be appreciated by Wang Anshi. Wang Anshi once wrote a poem for him, in which there was a sentence praising Shen Liao like "romantic Xie Anshi, dashing Tao Yuanming". When Wang Anshi was in power, he changed the law on a large scale. Shen Liao and Wang Anshi talked about the law. Wang Anshi always felt that he could not agree with his own mind and was increasingly alienated from Shen Liao. Therefore, Wang Anshi dismissed Shen Liao because of discord with his elder brother. After a period of time, fenglilang of Taichang Temple of Shenliao supervised the military treasury of Hangzhou, and the transit envoy sent Shenliao to Huating county. For a long time, other transit envoys had plans to send people to Huating County, so they wanted to charge Shen Liao with this crime. Because the people in Huating county were suing each other, Shen Liao was involved in their words, so the transit envoys charged Shen Liao with this crime. Shen Liao was arrested and sent to Yongzhou, where he was deprived of his official position. When his father died, he was not allowed to go home. After the amnesty, Shen Liao began to move to Chizhou. During the past few years, Shen and Liao were wandering in the mountains and rivers, and their temperament became more lonely and arrogant. After arriving in Chizhou, I pondered over the landscape in Jiuhua Mountain and Qiupu, and happily said, "let me choose a place for myself, which is just here." So they built houses on the mountain and named them "cloud nest". Most people who like landscape like to visit him. When he was in Chizhou, Shen Liao regretted that he couldn't value himself in his life, so he abandoned all the things he had learned when he was young. Du menxie Ke devoted himself to reading. Even his pen and inkstone were covered with dust all day long. He occasionally wrote an article with magnificent diction and was very good at poetry. Zeng Gong, Su Shi, and Huang Tingjian all sang and communicated with him, but in the end they were not reinterpreted Appointment. Shen Liao died at the age of 54 at the end of Yuanfeng.
