Life of the characters
Shen Yuan and Zhang Mao are the two representatives of China. They share the same feelings and are very close to each other. In 1250, on the fourth day of July in the year of Gengshu, Shen Yuan's wife Xu gave birth to a son named Quan. On the same day of the same year, Zhang Mao's wife Liu also gave birth to a daughter, named Yu Niang. Shen Quan came to the world only three hours earlier than Yu Niang, so Yu Niang called him cousin.
Zhang Yuniang (1250-1276) was born in the afternoon of the fourth day of July in the tenth year of gengxu (1250 A.D.), and died at the age of 27 in the first year of Jingyan (1276 A.D.). She was born in an official family. She has a good collection of books for generations. Zhang Yuniang is intelligent and easy to read. She worked in poetry and was compared with Ban Zhao, a famous poet in the Han Dynasty.
When Yu Niang was 15 years old, she was engaged to her cousin Shen Quan. Yu Niang and Shen Quan, a couple of gifted scholars and beauties, have never guessed each other since they were young. Shen Quan often went to Zhang Jia to talk with Yu Niang about poetry, reading, writing, playing piano, chess, painting and poetry. Shen Quan admired Yu Niang's versatility and extraordinary literary talent. Yu Niang also admired Shen Quan's talent, learning and dignified character.
Yu Niang had two maids, zi'e and shuang'e, who were also quite talented and different from other people's servant girls. The second maid often sent letters to Shen Quan and Yu Niang Hongyan.
There is an unexpected situation. Unfortunately, Shen Quan's parents died, and his family was in depression. Because of the end of the Song Dynasty, Shen Quan had no intention of fame. Zhang Mao, Yu Niang's father, saw that the Shen family was poor, so he had the idea of repentance. The jade Niang knows after secretly hurt a spirit, can't bear to carry. Shen Quan's strong affection for Yu Niang made it clear that "if you want to be a good son-in-law, you must wait for Chenglong." So, I am angry to study. In 1271, Xianchun of the Southern Song Dynasty was ranked first (another name is Du Wenfu). As he went to Beijing to take the exam, he got typhoid fever and went home to get sick. His servant told Yu Niang the news. Mourning in her heart, Yu Niang wrote to Shen Quan: "life is not even for you, and I wish to die at the same acupoint!"
When Shen Quan saw it, he wrote a poem in return, which said, "the fairies are separated from the water, and the snow is clear. The flower is shy, the moon is cold. High feeling spring does not dye, mood dust difficult to rely on. How can we drink Yunye and cross Shuangluan together Soon, he died.
After Shen Quan's death, Yu Niang wept in front of the curtain, determined to be chaste, and wrote a poem: "in the middle of the road, I pity you for your long parting, and you will never see again. I'd like to turn today's idea into a balcony cloud. "
Yu Niang lived through six years of depression. Song Jingyan two years (1277 AD) Lantern Festival late, sad and died, at the age of 28. Knowing that she died for Shen Quan, her parents asked the Shen family for permission and buried them together in the field of Guo Fenglin in the west of the county.
One month after Yu Niang's death, her maidens zi'e and shuang'e died one after another, grieving for her. Even the parrot she used to play with died of mourning. The family sobbed and buried the maidservant and parrot together. Shen Quan and Yu Niang are in the middle, zi'e and shuang'e are in the left, and parrot is in the right. At that time, this group of tombs was called parrot tomb. A well was dug in front of the tomb, which was called "Lan Xue Quan". Two couplets and three "Zhen Wen ancestral halls" were built behind the tomb. The front gate was inscribed with "Zhen Wen forever".
Tang Guizhang commented on Zhang's experience and character: her short life experience is more tragic than Li Yi'an and Zhu Shuzhen. Li Yi'an is mourning for her husband and wife, Zhu Shu is really sad, but she has a lover who can't get married, and she hates forever Her loyalty and filial piety is not only better than that of ordinary women, but also worse than that of Li Yi'an and Zhu Shuzhen!
Yu Niang's love tragedy is full of sighs. Meng Chengshun, a famous dramatist in the early Qing Dynasty, made a donation for her and set up a memorial Temple behind her tomb. He wrote two episodes of thirty-five fold Zaju "zhenwenji of the parrot tomb in Sanqing of Zhang Yuniang's boudoir", which made Zhang Yuniang's story spread and spread to foreign countries and Japan.
Zhang Yuniang and Shen Quan are real people. Their love tragedy is very touching. People frankly say that "the story is more moving than the story of Liang Zhu", which is more sighing and soul shaking than the legend of "Liang Zhu".
