Wan Chengcang (1683-1746), whose name is Yuguang, was born in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province.
Wan Chengcang liked to read Confucian books in Song Dynasty when he was young. In the 52nd year of Kangxi, he became a scholar of Imperial Academy. The museum is scattered and edited. In the 60th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi, Li Fu, the chief examiner, was rumored to have been dismissed. Later generations found out that he had been falsely accused and restored to his post. He served as deputy examiner of Fujian provincial examination and was promoted to Bachelor of science. He was friendly with Li Fu. When he was in the capital, he lived together and gave lectures with Quan Zuwang. Sometimes he studied history, rhymed poems, and served as guest and host of each other. After his return, Dumen's study ended. Cheng Cang wrote Wan Xue Ji, Ru Lu Ji and Yi Zhuan Lun, all of which are biographies of Qing Dynasty history.
