Lin Qi'ao, named Menglian and Renfu, was born in Jiezhou, Pingyang, Wenzhou (Ruian prefecture). He was a Jinshi in the first year of Baoyou (1253) of LiZong in the Southern Song Dynasty. He was a magistrate of Renhe county and a doctor of the Ministry of war. He knew nanjianzhou. In the end of Song Dynasty, he fought against Yuan Dynasty and established King Yi of Song Dynasty in Fuzhou. In 1256, Lin Qi'ao wrote the poem "Wan Hu Ji Zhao", which was published in volume 3 of Xiangtai Shou Mo, edited by Hu zhirou (Hu Ji Zhao's son). From 1264 to 1274, Lin Qi'ao was the magistrate of Renhe County in Lin'an prefecture (Renhe county has been incorporated into Hangzhou City), and wrote two volumes of Yi Shu Gu Yan. From 1275 to 1276, Lin Qiao knew nanjianzhou (now Nanping City). In April 1276, Lin Qi'ao led the army to drive away Huang Wan Shi, the former Jiangxi institution envoy, who attempted to occupy Fujian Province and solicit credit from the Yuan Dynasty. In May 1276, Lin Qi'ao welcomed duanzong Zhao and proclaimed himself Emperor in Fuzhou. In July 1277, Lin Qiao, together with Zhang Shijie and Gao Rixin, recovered Shaowu. In September 1277, Lin Qi'ao and Yuan Jiang Ye lost their way in Shaowu. Because they ran out of ammunition and food, Shaowu lost again. Around 1278, Lin Qiao lived in seclusion in qiayu, Changle, Fujian Province. Around 1300, after Lin Qi'ao died, his descendants buried him in the back mountain of qiayu village, which was called Aoshan. Because it was in the Yuan Dynasty, his descendants did not set up a tombstone for him. Instead, they built a Wuxian temple. The story of Lin Qi'ao and Wuxian Gong has been handed down from generation to generation. While offering sacrifices to Wuxian Gong, they also taught his descendants not to forget that their ancestor was Lin Qi'ao.
