Life of the characters
Early experience
Li Mi, whose ancestral home is Xiangping County, Liaodong county (now Liaoyang, Liaoning Province), was born into the Li family in Liaodong county (Liaodong Fang, one of the six rooms designated by the Li family in Zhaojun County in the new book of Tang Dynasty) and was the sixth grandson of Li Bi, the Grand Master of the Northern Zhou Dynasty, and the son of Li Chengxiu, the magistrate of Wufang County in Tang Dynasty.
At the age of seven, Li Mi is a gifted child. In 728, Li mi was summoned by Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty. When he entered the palace, Xuanzong asked Zhang, who was playing chess with himself, to try Li Mi's ability. Zhang said that Li mi was asked to write a Fu with the title of "the movement and the stillness of the square". Li mi thought for a moment and asked, "I hope to know the outline." Zhang Yue said: "the square is like a chess game, the circle is like a chess piece, the movement is like a live chess, and the stillness is like a dead chess." Li mili immediately replied: "square is like doing righteousness, round is like using wisdom, moving is like exerting talent, and quiet is like being satisfied." After listening, Zhang congratulated Xuanzong on getting a child prodigy. Xuanzong was also very happy. He rewarded Li Mi and ordered the Li family to support him.
Prime Minister Zhang Jiuling loved Li mi very much and often invited him to his bedroom to talk. Zhang Jiuling made friends with his ministers Yan Tingzhi and Xiao Cheng. Yan Tingzhi hated Xiao Cheng's flattery and advised Zhang Jiuling to refuse to associate with Xiao Cheng. Zhang Jiuling suddenly said to herself, "Yan Ting is too rigid, but Xiao Cheng is soft and beautiful." Just as he was about to order the people around him to call Xiao Cheng, Li Mi, who was beside him, immediately said, "you are an official in cloth clothes, and you are a prime minister because of your integrity, but do you like soft and beautiful people?" After hearing this, Zhang Jiuling was very surprised. She quickly changed her face to admit her mistake and called him "little friend". In the court, Li mi was not only appreciated by Zhang Shuo and Zhang Jiuling, but also highly valued by the ministers Wei Xuxin and Zhang Tingli.
Li Bicheng was very erudite and good at studying the book of changes. He often traveled among Songshan, Huashan and Zhongnan mountains, admiring the immortal immortality.
Ten years after Tianbao (751), Li Mi, who lived in seclusion in Songshan, presented to Xuanzong the nine tripods of fuming hall. Xuanzong remembered Li Mi's "zaohui" and called him to the court to teach Laozi. Because of his explanation of "Youfa", Emperor Xuanzong ordered him to treat the Imperial Academy and worship the eastern palace. Prince Li Heng treated Li Bi very well. Li mi once wrote poems to ridicule his favorite ministers Yang Guozhong and an Lushan. Yang Guozhong falsely claimed that he had written a sentimental poem to satirize the government. As a result, Li mi was sent to Qichun county (now Qichun County, Hubei Province) for resettlement. After this event, Li mi left the court and "was hiding in a famous mountain to learn to be reclusive".
Baiyishan people
After the outbreak of the an Shi rebellion, Xuanzong left in a hurry, and Li Heng ascended the throne in Lingwu (now Lingwu in Ningxia) as emperor suzong of the Tang Dynasty. After suzong ascended the throne, he sent people to look for Li mi everywhere, and Li mi also arrived at Lingwu. Suzong immediately discussed the current situation with him, and he analyzed the general situation of the world at that time and the key to success or failure. Su Zong was very happy and wanted to give him an official position. Li mi called himself a mountain man and resolutely refused, hoping to follow him as a guest. Suzong had no choice but to give Li miyin a casual official of doctor qingguanglu. When he encountered difficult problems, he often discussed with him and called him Mr. instead of his name.
At this time, Li Mi has been eating less fireworks. One night, suzong was so happy that he found his brother Sanwang and Li Mi to eat hot pot on the stove. Because Li mi didn't eat meat, he cooked two pears for him to eat. The three kings fought for pears, but suzong refused to give them.
Li mi entered the court to discuss state affairs. From making letters and letters to promoting prime minister, he had everything in advance. In history, he was said to be "more powerful than Prime Minister". When Li mi went out, he accompanied suzong in his car. People pointed at him and said, "the one in yellow is the emperor, and the one in white is the hermit of mountain people.". When suzong heard about this, he granted Li bijinzi and appointed him as marshal of the world's army and commander of the army of Li Chu, king of Guangping (later Emperor Li Yu of Tang Dynasty). Suzong once said to him, "you once served the Emperor (Xuanzong), and you were my teacher in the middle. Now you are the next marching commander of Guangping king. My father and son have all relied on your morality." When the army negotiated to set up a marshal, people paid attention to Li Chu, king of Jianning. Li mi said to suzong secretly, "king of Jianning is really clever, but king Guangping is the eldest son. He has the courage to be a king. Do you want him to be Uncle Wu?" Suzong said: "Guangping king has been established as Prince, why do you need to be Marshal?" Li mi said: "if the marshal performs meritorious service, can his majesty not make him the heir to the throne? The prince was the Fujun when he was with him, and the chieftain when he was stationed. Now the marshal is the Fujun. " Suzong finally followed his advice.
When suzong was the crown prince, Li Linfu, the prime minister, framed him many times with slander. After he ascended the throne, he planned to dig up and burn Li Linfu's remains. Li mi thinks that as the son of heaven, he can't show his hatred to the world with a broad mind, which will make those who take refuge in the rebels lose the idea of reform. Su Zong was displeased and said, "have you forgotten the past?" Li mi replied, "I don't think about that. The emperor ruled the world for 50 years. Once he was frustrated, the weather in the South was bad, and he was old. When he heard his Majesty's hatred, he would feel ashamed and unhappy. In case the emperor gets sick, his majesty will not be able to pacify his relatives because of the vast world. " Before he finished speaking, suzong realized that he was holding Li Mi's neck and crying: "I didn't think of this."
Suzong inquired about Li Mi's strategy of exterminating the rebels. He made a plan of encirclement and suppression according to the situation at that time. First of all, Li mi concluded that an Lushan, Shi Siming and others were a group of mobs with no purpose, and the purpose was only to rob, "the world's great plan is not known.". Within two years, there will be no bandits. Your majesty has no desire to be quick. He is the master of the king. He should do everything for a long time, so that there will be no harm. " Therefore, he drew up a strategy to let Shuofang General Li Guangbi guard Taiyuan and leave Jingxing; Guo Ziyi took Feng Xu and went into Hedong to cut off the four bandit generals and did not dare to move south. He also secretly ordered Guo Ziyi to open up a corner of Huayin, so that the rebels could pass through the customs, so that they could guard Fan Yang in the north and save Chang'an in the west, and run thousands of miles to strain their elite troops. However, the Tang army often cut off the weak soldiers. Then all the troops and horses gathered in Fufeng to fight the rebellion together with Shuofang army. Li Chu, the king of Jianning, was appointed as the ambassador of Fan Yang's Jiedu, and Li Guangbi and Li Guangbi were each other's horns to capture Fan Yang. If the rebels lose their base areas, they will die at the hands of the generals in Henan. Suzong did everything according to his plan, but later he didn't expect it. This is the strategic application of Li Mi's "frustrate the sharp and solve the dispute". However, it is a pity that suzong was eager for quick success and instant benefit and did not listen to Li Mi's suggestion, which led to the failure of Hebei's thorough elimination.
In order to recover the capital of Chang'an as soon as possible, suzong said to Li mi when Guo Ziyi was ready to borrow money to gather at the northwest Military University: "today's war is bound to win, and the attack is bound to take. Why should Fan Yang be the first to win a thousand miles?" Li mi said: "if we use a large army, we must try to win the two capitals quickly, then the thief situation will be strong again, and we will be troubled again in the future. We have a strong and fearless force, relying entirely on qixitu cavalry and northwest armies. If we must take the capital first, we will succeed in the spring of next year. However, due to the geographical environment and climate of Kanto, spring comes earlier, and the climate is easy to be muggy. The cavalry horses are also easy to get sick, and the soldiers Miss spring. They will also want to go home early, so they are not willing to fight again and again. Then the enemy under occupation can recuperate his soldiers, and after reorganizing his army and training his troops, he will come back to the south again. This is a very dangerous way. " However, suzong resolutely did not listen to Li Mi's strategic advice and was eager to recover the two capitals. Therefore, Guo Ziyi borrowed his troops and followed Li Yu, king of Guangping, to recover the two capitals.
Escape from Hengshan
Since suzong ascended the throne in Lingwu, Li Mi has been around suzong, offering advice for the rebellion. Although he was not in an important position at that time, he was "more powerful than the prime minister". It was this close relationship with suzong that aroused the suspicion of Cui yuan and Li Fuguo. After the recovery of the two capitals, Li mi took the initiative to leave the center of power and retreat into Hengshan to practice Taoism. Su Zong issued an imperial edict to give Li mi three grades of salary and hermit clothes, and built a living room for him.
Entering and leaving the court
After Li mi lived in seclusion for several years, Xuanzong died, and suzong died immediately. The new emperor who succeeded Li mi was Guangping King Li Yu (emperor of Tang Dynasty). When Daizong ascended the throne, he immediately called Li mi back and appointed him Hanlin bachelor. Daizong first let him live in the palace of Penglai palace Book Pavilion, then in Chang'an guangfuli gave him the house, and forced him to eat meat, but also for him to marry the late Shuofang left after Li Wei's niece as his wife. however
