Famous local products
Founding
During the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty (1796-1820), Liang Weilong, a timber merchant in Tanghu Township, transported a batch of timber by water to Nanjing for sale. Due to the sudden flood, all the timber was washed away. Liang Weilong was in trouble and was exiled in Nanjing. He met a local rich man named Yang, who was taken in by him and married him. Yang was good at making tea, and later Liang Weilong and Yang returned home with some tea seeds. On the local gougunao mountain, he cultivated small tea gardens and made his own tea, which was called "gougunao tea". Because the tea is exquisitely made and has excellent color, fragrance and taste, it has been praised by people and gained fame. Later, in the period of the Republic of China, he won the gold award of Panama Pacific International Fair and the first prize of Zhejiang Jiangxi specialty joint exhibition. Since then, it has been famous far and wide.

The production technology of gougunao tea has always been handed down by the Liang family. It has been handed down from generation to generation, and outsiders are not allowed to pay attention to it. In 1943, Liang Demi, the fifth generation descendant of gougunao tea, in order to prevent others from counterfeiting, in the name of his father Liang Jixing, put a seal on the tea packaging paper which was made and sold by Liang Demi, saying "gougunaoshi mountain tea from Shangnan Township, Tanghu County, Suichuan County is a real product. Please recognize the picture as a record of Liang Jixing" and sell it to Nanxiong and Shao in Guangdong Province Pass area.
Product features
Gougunao mountain, more than 900 meters above sea level, is characterized by high mountain height, dense forest, fertile soil, abundant rainfall, cloud and mist, and gurgling spring water. Because of the short sunshine and more scattered light, the buds and leaves of tea plant are tender and rich in amino acids, caffeine and aromatic substances.
From picking to making, gougunao tea has a unique, delicate and original craft. When picking, there are strict regulations on picking methods and standards. Before the production, the fresh leaves will be carefully selected, and the tea production site and processing equipment will be selected. During the production, picking, spreading, killing, first kneading, frying, second kneading, reshaping, lifting, foot drying and other processes, the operation skills and heat control are very exquisite. After being made, the packaging and storage methods of tea are also different.
The appearance of gougunao tea is tight and beautiful, the rope is even and thin, the color is green, and the surface is covered with a layer of soft white hair. The tea is clear and slightly golden. After drinking, it is cool and mellow. It is fragrant and sweet. The taste in the mouth lasts for a long time. Development after the founding of the people's Republic of China
Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, the planting area of gougunao tea was small and its output was very low, with an annual output of only tens of Jin. According to the records in 1942, "Yushan tea, also known as gougunao, is now sold for three yuan every two years", "the quantity of tea is very small", "but few people from other provinces can try to taste its fragrance."
At the beginning of the people's Republic of China, in order to maintain and develop this traditional famous tea, the price of gougunao tea was reasonably adjusted. Leaders at all levels went deep into Liang Qigui's family (hereinafter referred to as Liang's family), who was the successor of gougunao tea, to offer sympathy, publicize policies, help solve some specific difficulties, support and encourage them to improve tea making technology, and increase the output of gougunao tea. In 1957, the output increased to 65 kg.
After agricultural cooperation, gougunao tea garden was collectively owned in 1957. In 1958, the tea mountain production brigade of Tanghu people's commune established a gougunao tea processing plant and hired Liang Jia as the technical director. However, due to the improper management system and methods, and not taking good care of the actual interests of the technical director, the quality of gougunao tea declined. Therefore, the county people's Committee took measures to return the tea garden to Liangjia in the winter of the same year, so as to restore the quality of tea. Since then, due to the problems of land, personnel, funds and the aging of tea plants, the output of gougunao tea has been hovering between 100 Jin. In 1964, the Ji'an Commissioner's office allocated 12000 yuan for support, and the county mobilized eight urban educated youths to settle down in Tanghu. Based on the Liang family's personnel and tea garden, it established gougunao tea factory in Suichuan County, which was in the charge of the Liang family. In that year, the tea garden was expanded by 30 mu. In the future, the output will increase correspondingly. In 1968, Liang Qigui, the sixth generation descendant of the Liang family, publicized tea making technology, and Tanghu people's commune actively carried out personnel training. After 1974, gougunao tea garden developed to 82 mu, and its output exceeded 500 kg.
In 1981, Tanghu people's commune transferred labor from all production brigades to open a new tea garden of 220 mu on gougunao mountain. In 1982, Liang Guangfu (the son of Liang Qigui), a technician of gougunao tea factory, was sent to Japan by the county to investigate the cultivation of Japanese tea plants and the application of technology in tea production. He also visited the National Tea Research Institute of Japan. Since 1983, Tanghu people's commune has held tea making training classes with Liang family members and technical personnel graduated from professional schools as the backbone, and trained more than 300 technical personnel of refined gougunao tea. Since 1983, Tanghu people's commune has held tea quality evaluation meeting every year. After that, Tanghu Township took gougunao tea factory as the leader and relied on thousands of households to expand the production scale. In 1988, the special poverty alleviation discount loan of 204000 yuan in the old area was used to cooperate with the three villages in the form of rural joint venture (farmers provide land, tea factories provide funds, and the income is divided in proportion)
