The Nanyue sluice site of the Western Han Dynasty is located in Guangming square, Beijing Road, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. In April 2000, during the excavation of the pile foundation of Guangming square, a huge wooden structure building was found 5 meters underground of the project. Archaeological experts identified it as the Nanyue wooden sluice site, and found "long live" tiles, Western Han Yunwen tiles, slate tiles, pottery net pendant and other components related to the Nanyue imperial palace The relics from the garden are consistent, so it is certain that this is the sluice of Nanyue state. That is to say, it is the architectural site at the southern end of the capital of Nanyue state, and it is the earliest, largest and best preserved wooden sluice in China. As the first site protection point in China, the hall of Guangming square is equipped with glass ornamental floor to protect and display the site. When people look around the floor, they can see part of the site. The first floor of Guangming square is the Museum of sluice site. Considering the need of protection, the glass floor frame on the site is two-story, more than ten meters high. The central remains inside are preserved in constant temperature and humidity with a giant glass cover for public viewing. The surrounding area of the glass cover is designed as a cultural relic exhibition corridor, which shows the excavation process and unearthed cultural relics through pictures, texts, 3D animation and other ways. According to historical records, in 214 BC (the 33rd year of the first emperor of Qin), Qin general Ren Xiao built a city in Panyu, which is known as "Ren Xiao city". After Zhao Tuo founded Nanyue state in 204 BC, he expanded Renxiao city to "ten li in circumference", covering the area from children's Park to cangbian road in the north of Zhongshan fourth road. In 1974, brick and stone walkways and "long live" tile fragments of Nanyue palace were found underground in the Municipal Bureau of culture, which began to have archaeological evidence. Since 1995, a large underground stone reservoir of the Nanyue Royal Palace has been found in Zhongyou street, the Royal Garden of the palace in the south, and the Palace site in the east of the children's Park, which proves that this area is the site of the palace. According to historical records, there are Yuewang palace and Yuewang platform on Yuexiu mountain, Yuewang well at the foot of the mountain, and Chaohan platform on Xianggang mountain. These places should also be within the scope of the capital of Nanyue. In the sluice site, the foundation of the city wall of the Eastern Han Dynasty, as well as the water wells of the Eastern Han Dynasty and the Southern Dynasties, the house foundation of the Tang Dynasty, the house site and the walkway of the Song Dynasty are also found. The importance of this site is undoubtedly very precious. Guangzhou has planned to build the sluice site into the first "indoor public open cultural relic" in China for citizens and tourists to visit.
