Located on Renmin North Road, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Art Center friendship theatre is a modern multi-functional entertainment place close to China Export Commodities Fair, Liuhua Hotel, Telecom Building and Guangzhou railway station.

Introduction to theatre

The theatre was opened on August 16, 1965, rebuilt in the winter of 1987, and resumed operation on July 13, 1988

. Over the past 20 years, he has received art groups from nearly 100 countries and regions, such as the Royal Ballet, as well as thousands of Chinese central and provincial troupes. He has received many heads of state and leaders of our party, government and army to watch performances. He has made contributions to strengthening international cultural exchanges and prospering socialist cultural undertakings, and enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad. Premier Zhou Enlai visited the friendship theatre several times before his death and highly appreciated the garden layout of the theatre.

Theatre facilities

Friendship Theater ranks in the forefront of the first-class cinemas in China, with elegant environment and luxurious decoration. There are 1524 seats in the auditorium, with spacious stage and excellent sound and light effects. It can arrange all kinds of performances, show all kinds of films, and receive large-scale meetings. A computer color fountain is designed in the theater square, which is eye-catching, and the picturesque garden on the south side is available for the audience to rest. The theater also has exhibition hall, video hall, troupe guest house, VIP reception room and audience canteen to provide quality services for various forms of cultural activities and the audience. The theater is equipped with advanced and practical equipment. The stage lighting system is imported from 160 circuit computer dimmer in the United States. The stage music adopts 32 channel mixer in UK, computer equalizer in USA and "EV" series advanced speakers, with a total output power of kW. The movie audio system introduces the American kintek super vertical surround sound equipment. The theatre is equipped with a closed-circuit television system and remote-controlled cameras. The live performance can be watched in VIP room, auditorium, dressing room and studios. 42 electric suspenders are installed on the stage, which provides convenience for the troupe to install and change scenes. The music pool can be divided into three parts to expand or narrow the performance area. The theater also introduced a set of internal intercom wireless communication equipment for the stage supervisor to transfer information with the staff. The central air conditioner adopts Daikin Air conditioning equipment with a cooling capacity of 600000 kcal / h. The theatre also has a world-class Austria "bossendorf" grand piano for pianists to play. In addition, advanced fire-fighting equipment is also installed on the stage. In case of fire, the fire-fighting water is immediately sprayed from the ceiling to form a "water curtain" isolated from the audience, so as to ensure the safety of the venue and the audience.

Theatre development

With a history of 40 years, friendship theatre is a multi-functional modern entertainment place. Over the past few decades, it has received performances from hundreds of national and regional art groups, including the Royal Ballet, as well as thousands of Chinese central and provincial troupes. The theater has introduced the most advanced sound and lighting series from the United States and Britain, with complete facilities such as performance monitoring and communication, which can meet the needs of various types of performances.

In recent years, friendship theatre has been actively exploring the performance market, taking the lead in implementing the performance line system in the Pearl River Delta, establishing and expanding the performance network, actively introducing the plays of well-known performing groups at home and abroad, and putting high-grade art products into the market, which has achieved remarkable social and economic benefits.
