The former site of the US consulate is located at No.1 Yishui Road, Shinan District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province. It was built in 1912.

From March 1924 to the end of 1924, the private courtyard villa was rented by the US consulate in Qingdao.

German three section architecture, the designer is German Schmidt. The building area is 1108.57 square meters. Yishui road is a short small road in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China, with a total length of only 300 meters. It starts from the governor's mansion square in the West and ends at Jiangsu Road in the East. It was named diederichs Weg during the German occupation and Chiyu town during the Japanese occupation. Along the road are beautiful German buildings left over from the colonial era.
