Nie'Er Cultural Square

Nie'Er culture square is a unique theme square, built in memory of Nie'Er, the author of national songs, and is the symbolic cultural infrastructure of Nie'Er's hometown. Nie'Er Music Square is the core of the whole Nie'Er culture square, which often carries out various cultural and recreational activities.

Nie'Er Cultural Square

Located in the urban area of Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, Nie'Er culture square is composed of one lake, two lines, one bridge and four districts. It is built to commemorate Nie'Er, the great people's musician and composer of the national anthem. At the top of the square stands a bronze statue of Nie Er playing violin. Under the statue stands six characters of Nie Er Music Square written by Li Lanqing, former Vice Premier of the State Council. Looking down from high altitude, the main design of the square is like a huge violin inlaid on the earth, which is extremely spectacular and beautiful. Nowadays, it is a good place for tourists and residents to go sightseeing, leisure and exercise. It is green and beautiful in all seasons.

Brief introduction to the square

Nieer culture square is one of the three main projects of Yuxi ecological construction. The project was approved by the municipal development and Reform Commission on December 31, 2004, the commencement ceremony was held on March 30, 2005, and the construction was officially started on April 6, 2005. On April 30, 2006, the main project of Nie'Er culture square was completed. The total land area of the project is 43.6 hectares, including 9 projects: Yuhu project, Yuhu lakeshore landscape project, road around the lake and terrain construction, music square, sprinkler irrigation system, Waterscape, lighting, plant landscape, Yingbin bridge. The spatial layout is "one lake, two lines, one bridge and four districts".

One lake: Yuhu lake, with a land area of 210.8 mu, is the main carrier of ecological and cultural landscape of Nie'Er culture square. Each functional area is arranged according to the water body of Yuhu lake and the surrounding land.

Two routes: the outer traffic circle around Yuhu Park and the inner circle along the lake for leisure and walking.

First bridge: tentatively named Yingbin bridge, it spans over Yuhu lake and adopts single hole design of slab arch scheme, with a net span of 24m, a total length of 30m and a width of 9.9m.

Four areas: cultural and leisure area, commercial and Nier music square area, sports function area and ecological leisure area. In the cultural leisure area, Nie'Er library, Nie'Er memorial hall, museum and other cultural facilities are coordinated with the construction of Yuhu lake. Commercial and Nier music square area, the music square area is the core of the whole Nier culture square, which can accommodate more than 20000 people, and the music stage area can accommodate 12000 people. The sports function area is composed of playing pool, children's amusement facilities, etc. aquatic flowers and plants are planted in the lakeside area. As the highest point of Nie'Er Cultural Square, Nie'Er statue is an important symbol of the city.

Cultural and ecological products

The construction of Nie'Er culture square first embodies culture, highlighting the concept of water as the "spirit" and culture as the "soul". Through architecture, sculpture and sketches, Nie'Er culture, national culture and regional culture are fully displayed, so as to embody Nie'Er spirit and distinctive Nie'Er culture and commercial culture, and become an important carrier of building Yuxi "three lakes" ecological urban agglomeration and advanced culture .

Brief introduction to Nie Er

Nie Er (1912-1935), formerly known as Nie Shouxin, was born in Yuxi, Yunnan Province. Chinese musicians. From a poor family, he wrote dozens of revolutionary songs. His series of works are the products of the people's revolution led by the Communist Party. Nie Er opened up the way of Chinese new music and was the pioneer of Chinese proletarian revolutionary music. Nie Er is the composer of the National Anthem of the people's Republic of China, March of the volunteers.

In 1927, he studied in Yunnan first union normal school (now Kunming University). And began to learn violin. In 1931, he became a violinist in Mingyue song and dance troupe, which was presided over by Li Jinhui. In July 1932, he published a short treatise on Chinese song and dance, and was forced to leave the troupe for criticizing Li.

In 1933, he began to compose music for left wing films and dramas. In 1933, Nie Er was introduced by Tian Han to join the Communist Party of China.

In early 1935, Nie Er wrote the famous march of the volunteers.

In January 1935, Nie Er was appointed director of the Music Department of Lianhua No.2 factory. On July 1, 1935, Nie Er, 23 years old, drowned while swimming in fujizawa, Japan.

In less than two years, he composed 37 songs, most of which deeply reflected the thoughts and feelings of the working people at that time, and accurately shaped the musical images of the working people, such as workers, singers and newsboys.

In the Anti Japanese and national salvation movement, Nie Er's songs had a far-reaching influence. His representative works include March of the volunteers, song of the road, docker, new woman, graduation song, song of flying flowers, singing girl under the iron hoof, song of selling newspapers, song of Meiniang, etc.

His music creation has a distinct sense of the times, serious ideology, high national spirit and outstanding artistic creativity. His music creation, as the development of Chinese proletarian revolutionary music, has defined the direction and set an example for music creation.

National flag raising ceremony
