Hong Kong Wetland Park is divided into "visitor center" and "wetland reserve", with a wide range of animals. In the visitor center, there are people watching exhibitions, people selling goods, people watching videos and people selling food. There is also an indoor game area (swamp calendar), and the wetland reserve is a large wetland environment, including Danshui swamp, pool, reed bed, mudflat, mangrove, grassland and woodland, where you can enjoy all kinds of wild animals and plants in close range.
Hong Kong Wetland Park
Hong Kong Wetland Park is located in the north of Tin Shui Wai, new territories. It has an indoor exhibition hall "wetland interactive world" covering an area of 10000 square meters and a wetland reserve of more than 60 hectares. It is the first park with similar facilities in Asia. It was officially opened to the public in May 2006. The Hong Kong Wetland Park, with its vast natural beauty, is a world-class ecotourism attraction. The entire Wetland Park is equipped with wildlife model exhibition, simulated wetland scenes and entertainment and education facilities. Visitors can not only enjoy the natural beauty, but also appreciate various forms of water and experience the characteristics of water nurturing life through the unique design of Hong Kong planners. There are nearly 190 species of birds, 40 species of dragonflies and more than 200 species of butterflies and moths in the park. Wetland reserves include man-made wetlands and habitats reconstructed for waterfowl.

geographical environment
The original site of Hong Kong Wetland Park is just an ordinary wetland. While the Hong Kong government is developing the new town of Tin Shui Wai,
We intend to use this land to compensate for the loss of land with ecological value during development.
In 1998, the then Hong Kong agriculture and Fisheries Department (now the Hong Kong agriculture, fisheries and Conservation Department) and the Hong Kong Tourism Association (now the Hong Kong Tourism Development Board) conducted a study and finally decided to build the land into an international eco-tourism project, namely the Hong Kong Wetland Park. At the same time, the Hong Kong Wetland Park serves as a buffer zone for the Mai Po wetland reserve. Therefore, the Hong Kong government also hopes to build a wetland park to conserve wetlands, educate the public and attract tourists.
In 1999, the construction of the wetland park was started. It is the first eco-environmental tourism project in Hong Kong, costing about HK $500 million. The park is divided into two phases. The first phase exhibition hall was completed and opened in December 2000, while the second phase exhibition hall was opened on May 20, 2006. Located in the north of Tin Shui Wai in the new territories, it is the first park in Asia to have similar facilities, including an indoor "wetland interactive world", or visitor center, covering an area of 10000 square meters, and a wetland reserve of over 60 hectares.
Every Sunday and public holiday, the volunteer tutor with rich ecological experience will take you on a fantastic tour of wetlands. Through lectures and interesting activities, you will see interesting and special wetland plants and animals.
Located in the constructed wetland, the Wetland Exploration Center allows visitors to experience wetland life. The riverside walk, the path of succession, the mangrove bridge and three birdhouses on the riverside, the fish pond and the mudflat lead visitors to different habitats and find a variety of interesting creatures. The habitats of wetland park include freshwater swamp, seasonal pond, reed bed, woodland, mudflat and mangrove.
natural resources
Wetland reserve includes artificial wetland and ecological environment reconstructed for waterfowl. There are nearly 190 species of birds, 40 species of dragonflies and more than 200 species of butterflies and moths in the park. Indoor exhibitions of common wetland animals and plants, such as Malay alligator, Malay closed shell turtle, local unique Hong Kong Betta, Hong Kong turbulent frog, etc.
The Hong Kong Wetland Park is the first important ecotourism facility in Hong Kong and won the annual architectural award of the Hong Kong Institute of architects.
There are three main exhibition galleries in the visitor center, each covering an area of 800 to 1200 square meters, displaying exhibits on biodiversity, civilization development and nature conservation. There are also a projection room, gift shop, wetland teahouse, swamp calendar and water park for visitors.

architectural style
There are three large-scale exhibition halls and outdoor reserves in the park. In addition to displaying the natural wetland ecology, the park also introduces a variety of indoor exhibitions of common wetland animals and plants, such as Malay alligator, Malay closed shell turtle, local unique Hong Kong Betta, Hong Kong turbulent frog, etc.
Beibei, a small bay alligator captured at Shanbei River in Yuen Long in June 2004, also moved to the "Beibei house" in the park in August 2006. The visitor center has three large-scale exhibition halls, including an audio-visual theater (in the "human culture" exhibition hall), a computer interactive game "wetland studio" to promote environmental awareness, and a "wetland world" to display different wetland ecological environments.
Features of scenic spots
Hong Kong New Lung
The breath of Hong Kong, a city, has always depended on the fields of Yuen Long, Lantau, lion rock, etc. unknown to outsiders. Until the return of China, a wetland park, a new lung of the city, was built. It not only made use of the original natural oxygen, but also educated the valuable value of Hong Kong people beyond the Survival Logic of the city at the spiritual level. It also educated the visitors that Hong Kong is not just water The mud forest is also a delicate and fresh place.
Before you go to the Wetland Park, you have to go through tianshuiwei. It's a new community. You can see a lot of sunshine and open space here. The new immigrants enjoy themselves. Under the guidance of Cai Lan and others, it has become a super stall. So after you go to the Wetland Park, you can come back here to find delicious food. Take the west rail line to tianshuiwei station, then transfer to light rail 705 or 706, get off at Wetland Park Station and walk about 9 minutes through the overpass, or get off at Tianxiu station and walk about 4.5 minutes through the tunnel, then you will arrive at another Hong Kong, which is beautiful and calm.
But it is also modern. The entrance of the park and the main exhibition hall are designed in Bauhaus style. The wetland geological fault relief outside and the animal silhouette on the glass are all thoughtful details. The design of the visitor center and exhibition hall is quite masterly. It has successively won the president award of the 2000 annual award of the Hong Kong Institute of architects, the 2005 annual architectural award of the Hong Kong Institute of architects, and the new architectural category award of the first "Green Building Award". The reason why it won the last award is that the visitor center introduced a lot of environmental protection concepts in its construction.
Creative activities
In addition to providing such a natural experience, wetland park is also keen on many creative participatory activities. During the Easter holiday, it will also take an "Easter parent-child wetland Tour" to let the family get close to nature in spring. The Park held the exhibition "meet fireflies" for the first time. We watched fireflies in the dark environment of the tropical swamp exhibition gallery and saw the bright and dim light of firefly larvae. It's hard to imagine meeting such a poetic feeling in Hong Kong. The firefly is like a dream, shining slowly on a short spring night.
tripartite
Wetland world is divided into three parts (tundra, tropical swamp and Hong Kong Wetland) to introduce wetland ecology in different regions. Wetlands have always been closely related to human beings, and wetland challenge leads visitors to explore the threat of human activities to global wetlands through interactive games. Along the winding wood road to the depth, all kinds of plants are scattered, and small animals are hidden. At the same time, we can see the fish swimming through the clouds through the clear water of different depths.
The wetland reserve includes the wandering path along the stream (introducing the ecology of the stream from upstream to downstream), the Wetland Exploration Center (with two small exhibition halls and regular exhibitions), the ecological exploration area (the epitome of the stream, where you can explore the mystery of Ecology), the wetland workshop (displaying the crops of the wetland), and the succession Road (simulating the process of the abandoned wetland gradually evolving from open water to woodland) It also introduces the interaction between habitat and biological community, Riverside birdwatching house, mudflat birdwatching house, fish pond birdwatching house, mangrove floating bridge, butterfly garden and field walk. Of course, the most attractive are the three different birdwatching houses, which are built with logs and built-in telescopes, so that you can clearly see the birds active in the wetland at present. During the migratory season in early March, when the tide height is appropriate, it is not difficult to find that the whole mudflat is full of resting water birds in the birdhouse.
Mangrove bridge that section is also full of surprise calls, there are always boys shouting: I found a crab! The name of mangrove is like a fairy tale, and its growth style is delicate, like a self-sufficient ecosystem. It is mainly composed of mangrove evergreen shrubs, which generally grow in bays with weak tides and waves. There are many such places in Hong Kong, and the Wetland Park provides a place for in-depth understanding. But what attracted me most was the falling leaves in the forest, which dyed different concentrations of red and yellow on the ground. The original big red
