Development history

It was originally located at the East Lake at the foot of Feihe mountain in the north corner of Tiantai County, covering an area of 5 mu. As a county, it already has such a museum. If it doesn't take the initiative, it will not build a new museum under normal circumstances. However, according to the needs of rooftop development and museum cause, the idea of building a museum with larger area and more complete functions was put forward. After the commencement of the museum project, when the provincial funds were not available and the municipal government only reached 800000 yuan, due to the transfer of Lian Xiaoming and Yang renzheng, the provincial and municipal funds could not be available, and the project construction fell into difficulties. In this case, we should take the initiative to report, strive for more investment from Tiantai county government, and take advantage of the favorable opportunity for provincial and municipal leaders to come to inspect, report the problem of insufficient funds, and strive for help. Finally, Taizhou Municipal government invested another 3.5 million yuan, and the Provincial Bureau of cultural relics invested 250000 yuan. Take the initiative to communicate and get the understanding of the contractor, so that the project can be completed with high quality. As the provincial and municipal funds are not in place, more than 3 million yuan is still owed to the contractor. Collection

The collection is divided into ceramics, bronze, calligraphy and painting, ancient books and miscellaneous categories. During the construction of Shangyu Sanmen first-class highway, a large number of dinosaur egg fossils appeared. In order to prevent them from being lost, at the beginning, through various efforts, the construction unit and the museum signed the "letter of responsibility for dinosaur fossil protection" to enhance their sense of responsibility and urge them to take protection actions. Through talking with migrant workers, they selected suitable personnel and developed mass dinosaur fossil protectors one by one. At the same time, we also publicized the importance of dinosaur fossils and their scientific research value to the masses, construction workers and conservationists step by step, and encouraged them to actively protect dinosaur fossils and hand them in as soon as they got dinosaur eggs and bones. The museum also rewards those who hand in fossils. Comrade ye Zaibao, who handed in the most fossils, handed in more than 500 dinosaur egg fossils, with a reward of more than 10000 yuan. A total of 50000 yuan has been awarded to hand in dinosaur egg fossils. Secondly, we should work closely with relevant experts to excavate and study dinosaur fossils. Tiantai County Museum is realized through free opening and holding patriotic education exhibition.

Serving the public

In order to give full play to the special functions of the museum in social culture, economy and tourism, vigorously carry forward the culture of Tiantai Mountain, publicize and improve the popularity of Tiantai Mountain, make it an irreplaceable propaganda window, and make more students and other social masses come to visit. With the consent of Tiantai County government, the new museum will be opened free of charge from July 8, 2003 . Since then, museums across the province have been open free of charge since January 1, 2004.
