Liangnong is a famous historical and cultural town in Zhejiang Province. During the Anti Japanese War, Liangnong was the heart of the revolutionary base of Siming Mountain. In history, Liangnong was also an important post on the road of Tang poetry in eastern Zhejiang. Many poets such as Li Bai and PI Rixiu stayed here. The town has historical sites such as Wugui tower, stone carvings from Song tombs, horseshoe shaped street, and revolutionary relics such as the memorial hall of the eastern Zhejiang base, the former site of the headquarters of the New Fourth Army East Zhejiang column, and the cemetery of revolutionary martyrs in Siming Mountain. Liangnong Town, it is said that the two ancestors surnamed Liang and Feng first settled here. Their original name was Liangfeng, but later they became Liangnong somehow. It is an ancient town with a history of more than 1000 years. Liangnong, with its winding alleys, flowing water, green tiles and brown eaves, and ninety-nine alleys, is like an old wine, which needs to be tasted carefully before its mellow flavor can be known. Enter the ancient town, along the "zhengmeng Street" eastbound, although it is a new street, but only feel the ancient style. This street is built in the style of Ming and Qing Dynasties. It intersects with the old street in the town. Along the street, there are two or three stories of houses with scattered eaves and gables, which echoes the second library in eastern Zhejiang. And the Central Primary School of the hundred year old school town is nearby, as if deliberately showing off its simple style and long history to people. After walking dozens of meters and turning right, it is an old street before liberation. In this ancient street, you can see the complete life customs of the mountain villages in the south of the Yangtze River, and at the same time, you can experience the elegant style of the characters in the mountain villages. There are many sheep slaughtering workshops like "yangtao", noodle making workshops and wine making workshops on the street. There are also old shop counters that are still open to welcome customers, all of which concentrate the social culture of Jiangnan mountain villages. Walking into the old houses in the old street, you can still see people sleeping in the old beds, hanging a hundred year old banner, and even eating bowls. They seem to live in the past. Nowadays, most of the people living in the old streets of the town are elderly people, and letting them still live here seems to be a measure taken to protect the old houses in the old streets. At the end of the old street, turn left to the former headquarters of the East Zhejiang guerrilla column of the New Fourth Army. The former site of the headquarters is located in xiaoyuanhe, Liangnong, which is a key cultural relic protection unit in Yuyao City. The former site of the headquarters was rebuilt to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the base. In March 1993, the historical materials exhibition room of the East Zhejiang column of the New Fourth Army was established, displaying more than 30 revolutionary historical relics, more than 160 historical photos and more than 10 charts.
