Yanxiadu site is located at the foot of Lingshan mountain, 4km east of Yixian County in the northwest of Baoding. It is closely connected with national highway 112. With its large scale, magnificent architecture and simple style, it can be called the first building complex of the Warring States period in China. In 1997, the county Party committee and the county government invested more than 40 million yuan in the construction of the Warring States city in Yi County, which made the unique Warring States city reappear. The Warring States city is mainly composed of the outer city, the inner city, the magnificent Qin palace, the elegant Dazheng palace, the mysterious ancient workshops, the prosperous Qin street, the Yan City, and the gorgeous Changxin Marquis's mansion. It covers a total area of 700 Mu and a construction area of 90000 square meters. The city is crisscross with closed doors, temples and pavilions all over the city, and the corridors are connected. It integrates the politics, military and folk customs of the Warring States period, fully displaying and reflecting the cultural connotation of the Warring States period. At the same time, the content of viewing and participating in activities is very rich. It is a comprehensive tourist site and a shooting base of film and visual location with historical themes. The Warring States city is located in the western part of Baoding and the yanxiadu site 5 kilometers southeast of Yixian city. It is a large-scale Warring States capital site with complete cultural relics in China. In 1961, it was announced by the State Council as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units. In March 2001, it was rated as one of the "100 great archaeological discoveries in China in the 20th century". In the same year, the State Administration of cultural relics listed it in 100 major sites protection projects. Yanxia capital was built in the 4th century BC, about the middle of the Warring States period. It was built by Yanzhao king, and has a history of more than 2000 years. According to the records of the Yan Family in historical records, after King Wu of Zhou conquered Zhou of Shang Dynasty, he granted Zhaogong to Yan, which is now located in Beijing, central and northern Hebei. The capital of the state of Yan is located in "Ji", which is called Shangdu. It is in the area of today's Beijing. In the Warring States period, the northern state of Yan became strong and dominated the Central Plains, known as one of the seven heroes. In order to cope with the southern countries, the state of Yan established an important military town in today's Yi County, Hebei Province, known as "Xiadu". It is between Beiyishui and Zhongyishui. It is close to Taihang Mountain in the west, Yishui in the South and Hebei Plain in the East.
