Architectural pattern
Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street East Henan Middle Road, West to Tibet Middle Road, 1033 meters long, the road width 18-28 meters, the total land is about 30 thousand square meters.
The pedestrian street of Nanjing road is arranged in an asymmetric form. It takes the golden belt of 4.2 meters wide as the main thread, and runs through the entire pedestrian street. The "golden belt" concentrates on the layout of city public facilities, such as chairs, shopping kiosks, information kiosks, billboards, sculpture pieces, street lamps, garbage bins, and electric kiosks, and has 34 flower beds with different shapes.
The "golden belt" is located 1.3 meters north of the road center line, 4.2 meters wide. A 7-meter-wide sightseeing lane is set to the south of the "golden belt", and a cover plate open drainage ditch is set at 7.2 meters north and 8.4 meters south of the road ridge. The "golden belt" is on the sunny side, which is the rest space of the pedestrian street. The pedestrian areas on both sides are flat and open without any obstacles, leading directly to the shops. The "gold belt" adopts polished Indian red granite, which can reflect the light of the sun and neon lights and improve the overall lighting effect of the commercial street.

Architectural features
overview
In the development process of more than 100 years, Nanjing Road has created various styles of buildings. The buildings are high and low, and the architectural interface is uneven. Due to the widening of the road, there is still a section of arcade. The layout of Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street breaks the traditional cross section form, adopts a board layout, cancels up and down the street edge, changes the original narrow walking space, and adjusts the vertical section according to the indoor elevation, so as to ensure the indoor floor above the outdoor floor; the pavement structure meets the slow speed sightseeing bus, and also can pass the sightseeing convoy of the important guests in China and abroad. In case of emergency, it can also be used as an emergency channel, and blind roads and barrier free facilities shall be set at the same time.
green
The greening design of Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, through the combination of "points, lines and surfaces", weakens the material texture of modern buildings and improves the ecological environment of pedestrian streets.
"Points": five giant Cinnamomum camphora trees at the intersection of Guizhou Road, Jinhua Road, Zhejiang Road, Fujian Road and Henan road. They not only embellish the environment and create a sense of rhythm for the space of the pedestrian street, but also play the role of prompting the intersection for visitors. At the same time, they solve the contradiction between street trees and shop signs and neon advertisements.
"Line": that is, the roadside trees in the "golden belt" greening and pedestrian area. 32 square flower beds are arranged on the "golden belt" to plant four seasons grass and flowers; 11 round flower beds are planted with bony trees over 100 years old; five groups of 15 potted trees are placed at the end of "golden belt" at the intersection of Henan Road, Fujian Road and Zhejiang Road. The original 24 Platanus orientalis street trees are preserved in the pedestrian street. In addition, more than 60 potted Osmanthus fragrans trees were planted on the section from Henan Road to Shanxi because it is located in the subway station and the roof is shallow.
"Face": the green space in Century Square and Henan Road square. The greening of century square highlights the theme of "introducing big trees into the city" and returning to nature. The concentrated green space is ladder shaped. Streamlined granite strips divide the green space into three layers: high, medium and low. At the top, 50 Cinnamomum camphora trees are planted. In the middle, there are shrubs such as Euonymus japonicus and Osmanthus fragrans. At the bottom, there are flower belts outlined by green vegetation and grass flowers. The greening of Henan Road square is a three-dimensional flower bed, with green coral trees, four seasons grass flowers and yellow Ligustrum lucidum from top to bottom, forming a hierarchical landscape green space, and hiding the subway vents and entrances and exits.
