Villa history
Nanjing experts believe it is Tao Baojin, Jiangning experts insist it is Zhang Jingjiang, and Chiang Kai Shek hot spring villa is a scenic spot in Nanjing Tangshan Scenic Area, located at No. 3, hot spring road, Tangshan.
Many Nanjing literature and history experts believe that Chiang Kai Shek's hot spring villa is Tao Lu, which was built in 1919 by Tao Baojin, a famous Jiangning man. In April 1946, the national government rebuilt the house into a special hot spring villa for Chiang Kai Shek and Song Meiling. However, Jiangning literature and history experts Zhao Muming and Fei Zhongxing said that Chiang Kai Shek's hot spring villa was not a pottery house, but a mansion built by Kuomintang veteran Zhang Jingjiang.
Chinese garden
Taolu is a Chinese style garden building with large roof and cloister hall. Located at No.3, Wenquan Road, Tangshan, Jiangjieshi villa is a famous hot spring villa in Nanjing and a cultural protection unit in Jiangsu Province. Relevant departments have repaired it. Wei Tianchi, a famous calligrapher, wrote seven characters of "Jiangjieshi hot spring villa" and inlaid a bronze plate on the wall beside the gate.
According to the bronze medal, "the villa was built in 1920, formerly known as Taolu. It is the private property of Tao Baojin, a celebrity in Jiangning...". In this regard, Jiangning literature and history expert Mr. Zhao Muming said that the villa was built in 1920, but its original name is not Taolu, but Zhang mansion, that is, the private villa of Kuomintang veteran Zhang Jingjiang. Taolu and zhanggongguan are two hot spring villas adjacent to Tangshui river. The original site of Taolu is in the courtyard No.1, Wenquan road.
Local Records
According to the records in the annals of Nantang mountains, Taolu is a typical garden style building, which is mainly based on China's traditional architectural style and compatible with some western architectural features. The pavilions, pavilions, pavilions and corridors are well arranged and complement each other.
Flowers and trees are planted all over the garden, which is evergreen all the year round. In the early years of the Republic of China, "Jinling Garden Villa records" recorded: "Tao Lu is in Tangshan, and Tao Xisan (Baojin) villa in Jiangning. There are several rafters in the building room, behind which there is a small pool and hot spring. It's full of flowers and trees. "
chinese and western
The most attractive place of Taolu is that it has a soup pool in every room, and it can enjoy bath and recuperation. It is said that Taolu was not open to the outside world at first, but later became famous. Its price is very expensive. It costs one yuan for a bath, and ordinary people dare not enter.
According to Mr. Fei Zhongxing's research, after Taolu was confiscated in 1946, the Nanjing municipal government and the Army University filed a lawsuit for the property for two years. The Army University used it as a general training camp until it was accepted by the PLA in 1949. Mr. Zhao Muming also saw the buildings of Taolu with his own eyes. The main building of the villa, the cloister hall, was not demolished until the early 1980s. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Zhang's residence was transformed into Chiang Kai Shek's hot spring villa, which was preserved as an important reception place.
After many vicissitudes
The villa that Zhang Jingjiang presented to Chiang Kai Shek is a combination of Chinese and western. The Taolu at No.1 Wenquan road is not Chiang Kai Shek's hot spring villa. So why did Zhang Jingjiang mansion at No.3 Wenquan road become Chiang Kai Shek's villa? It turned out that Zhang Jingjiang was Chiang Kai Shek's brother and had served as the acting chairman of the national government. In 1927, Chiang Kai Shek and his bride, Song Meiling, arrived in Nanjing. Zhang Jingjiang built "Tangshan villa" as a gift. Mr. Fei Zhongxing said that Chiang Kai Shek's hot spring villa was destroyed at one time, and then rebuilt after many vicissitudes.
At the beginning of the fall of Tangshan, Chiang Kai Shek's hot spring villa was burned down by the Japanese invaders.
In December 1937, after the 16th Division of the Japanese army occupied Tangshui Town, from soldiers to generals, they wanted to soak in the hot spring and enjoy themselves. "There are hot springs pouring out of Tangshan," Takashima Shiliang of the 33rd regiment of the division (Noda unit) wrote in his diary on December 8. The clear hot water is flowing. It's very hot when you reach in and have a try. "
Reconstruction period
On December 9, a large group of soldiers of Noda army rushed to Tangshui Town, surrounded by the steaming hot spring, and happily washed it away. Field photographer Jiao Ye photographed the scene and published it in an pictorial.
The illustration of this photo specially points out that "the building on the right rear of the photo is Chiang Kai Shek's villa". Another photo was also taken near Chiang Kai Shek's hot spring villa. The building in the photo is the auditorium of Tangshan primary school. From these two photos taken by the Japanese army, it can be seen that Chiang Kai Shek's hot spring villa had been burned down. It is not clear whether it was hit by a shell and burned, or whether it was deliberately set on fire after the Japanese occupation of Tangshui town. Shortly after the victory of the Anti Japanese War, the villa was rebuilt.
Reporter interview
Visiting Chiang Kai Shek's hot spring villa in 1985, I heard that Chiang Kai Shek had a hot spring villa in Tangshan for a long time. In autumn and winter of 1985, we drove to No. 3, hot spring road, Tangshan town, 28 kilometers away from the city. In front of him is a Wei Qiang, whose two iron gates completely isolate the courtyard from the outside world. Heard the knock on the door, the hospital heard several barks.
An old man opened half the door. When we explained our intention, he replied that we have not been open to the outside world for a long time. If we want to see it, we need to contact the army. It turned out that since the "Cultural Revolution", this place has been taken care of by the nearby military sanatorium. We immediately went to the sanatorium. The Army Management Department warmly received us and sent an officer to visit. Back in the courtyard, there lived an old couple guarding. The hospital was very empty and desolate.
True face in hospital
According to the old man, almost no one has come here for more than 20 years since 1959. We are the first group to visit after the "Cultural Revolution". Hot spring villa is a two-story building on the ground and underground. With the guidance of the old man, we can watch it one by one from the reception room, rest room and chess room on the ground floor to the baths of Jiang song couple, bodyguard officer and attendant.
It's hard to imagine the "true appearance" of that year: the walls and floors are mottled and fragmented, the water pipes and baths are rusty, and the original juxtaposed "mandarin duck pool" has long been changed into a large pool, which can't drop water by turning on the tap. The orange velvet sofa in the rest room is not only faded, but also can't bear the load when you press it with your hand.
One of our colleagues wanted to open the window to make the air transparent. Unexpectedly, he pressed the brown window lightly
