Taofen Memorial
Taofen memorial hall is a memorial hall for the former residence of Chinese journalist, political commentator and publisher Zou Taofen (1895-1944). On November 5, 1958, Zou Taofen officially opened on the 63rd anniversary of his birth. In January 2003, the memorial hall was named "Shanghai patriotism education base" by the Shanghai Municipal People's government. At the same time, it provides free space and help for teenagers to hold 18-year-old adults, join the team, join the League ceremony and other activities.

Zou Taofen (1895-1944), formerly known as Enrun, was born in Yongan, Fujian Province. He has successively studied in Fuzhou University of technology, primary school affiliated to Shanghai Nanyang University, Nanyang middle school, mechanical and Electrical Engineering Department of Nanyang upper school and Liberal Arts Department of Shanghai St. John's University. China's outstanding political commentator, publisher, is China's modern outstanding press and publishing workers. In his life, he has sponsored six journals, written reviews and news reports of millions of words. The "life bookstore" he founded has 56 stores in China, and has made creative contributions to China's progressive journalism and culture. Taofen was his pseudonym when he later edited Life Weekly. He once said to his friends, "Tao is a Tao that keeps a low profile while striving is a struggle. On the one hand, we should keep a low profile, and on the other hand, we should strive. " The reason why he chose this pseudonym is to encourage himself.
Zou Taofen was born in Yongan, Fujian Province, on November 5, 1895 (September 19, 1895). His grandfather, Zou Shuyu, was named Xiaocun village. He passed the exam of Bagong in the former Qing Dynasty. He successively served as county magistrate of Yongan and Changle in Fujian Province, and then as magistrate of Yanping. His father, Zou Guozhen, is Yongqian. Her mother, Zha family in Haining, Zhejiang Province, married to the Zou family at the age of 15. Zou Taofen had three sons and three daughters. In 1900, Zou Taofen's grandfather retired in old age, and his father and his family became alternate officials in Fuzhou. At this time, the Zou family's way of life had been declining, and their life was in short supply. As the eldest son, Zou Taofen realized the hardships of life from childhood. On July 24, 1944, Zou Taofen left his family, his beloved press and publication work, and his great patriotic and democratic cause. He was 48 years old.
General situation
Taofen memorial hall is located at No. 53 and 54, Lane 205, Chongqing South Road, with a construction area of 354 square meters. It was originally Taofen's former residence. In 1956, the central Ministry of culture approved the establishment of the Taofen Memorial here, which was officially opened on November 5, 1958. At present, No. 53 serves as an auxiliary exhibition room to introduce Tao Fen's life story; No. 54 restores Tao Fen's former residence as it is.
The museum has two parts: former residence and auxiliary exhibition. The former residence is where Zou Taofen lived and worked in the 1930s. On May 26, 1959, it was designated as a cultural relic protection unit at the municipal level in Shanghai. The former residence is arranged as it is, and most of the objects on display are original. The auxiliary display part is illustrated with pictures, objects and words, reflecting Zou Taofen's life and ideological development. The inscriptions of state leaders are displayed.
In January 2003, the memorial hall was named "Shanghai patriotism education base" by Shanghai Municipal People's government. The memorial hall is free of charge for group visits and half a ticket for individual visits. It also provides free space and help for teenagers to hold 18-year-old adults, join the team, join the League ceremony and other activities.
Collection in the Museum
There are 3378 items in the museum, including 17 first-class items. For example, Zou Taofen's last manuscript "the rest of his life in need" and his used pen. The collections mainly include: Zou Taofen's handwriting, manuscripts, relics, daily necessities, various versions of translation, original edition of editor's journal, unpublished articles; the publications of life Bookstore founded by Zou Taofen and his comrades Hu Yuzhi and Xu Boxin that year; the main archives of life bookstore, such as meeting minutes, Internal Journal "store affairs bulletin", etc.; the historical records of major events of that year Information, such as saving Congress, the "seven gentlemen" incident, etc. After the death of Zou Taofen in 1944, the inscriptions of Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Zhou Enlai, Ye Jianying, Song Qingling and Deng Yingchao, as well as the manuscripts of elegiac couplets and elegiac words at Memorial meetings held in Chongqing, Yan'an and other places are rare.
Amount of Memorial Hall
It is written by Mr. Shen Junru and contains many of Mr. Zou Taofen's manuscripts, works and leaders' inscriptions. Over the years, the library has published or co edited books and periodicals such as Tao Fen's road, biography of Tao Fen's paintings, Tao Fen's handwriting, and photocopies of the rest of his life in need, public life, new life, eternal life, life daily, Life Weekly, etc.

It was the former residence of Taofen. Taofen Memorial covers an area of 280 square meters and a building area of 360 square meters, including two parts: Taofen's former residence and his life story display. This paper mainly introduces the life story of Tao Fen. The exhibition of his life stories is divided into eight parts to introduce Comrade Zou Taofen's revolutionary life. No. 54, Lane 205, Chongqing South Road, is the renovated former residence of Taofen. The former residence still retains the original appearance of Taofen's family in the 1930s. All the items on display are the original things used by Zou Taofen in his lifetime. On the right side of the fireplace is a large picture of Tao Fen's mother, and on the left and right sides are two frames with landscape paintings. On the left side of the fireplace is an embroidery by her wife Shen Cuizhen (she was an embroidery expert). Sunlight from the south wall in the middle of the landing window into, appears particularly warm, seems to be waiting for the return of Tao Fen far away.
Humanistic value
"Tao Fen" is a pseudonym he used after he edited Life Weekly in 1926. "Tao" means to keep a low profile and "Fen" means to struggle unremittingly. He is not only an outstanding patriot and communist fighter in modern Chinese history, but also a famous journalist, publisher and political commentator. On July 24, 1949, Song Qingling delivered a speech in Shanghai commemorating the fifth anniversary of Zou Taofen's death, praising "Mr. Taofen is a great patriot and a brave people's soldier. His history of struggle provides one of the most brilliant examples of the road taken by revolutionary intellectuals

" Emphasizing that "one of Mr. Taofen's pens once inspired millions of Chinese patriotic people to take the road of striving for national liberation and people's democracy.". In order to commemorate and learn from Taofen, the state began to build Taofen Memorial Hall in 1956 on the basis of Taofen's former residence in Shanghai and opened it to the outside world in 1958. On the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Zou Taofen, in order to commemorate this outstanding patriot and communist soldier in China's modern history, inherit and carry forward the spirit of Taofen, on October 27, 21 veteran comrades from Luwan branch of Shanghai old Journalists Association visited the Taofen memorial hall with reverence and Revisited the glorious life of Comrade Zou Taofen.
Chen Zengsheng, a veteran of Jiefang Daily who won the first Taofen News Award in Shanghai, has come to the memorial hall for the fourth time. He said: "Comrade Taofen is a model of our journalists.
