Huoshan Park
Shanghai Huoshan park is located in the southeast of Hongkou District, near the downtown entrance of Tilanqiao. Its gate is at the intersection of Huoshan road and Zhoushan road. It faces north from South and covers an area of 3700 square meters. After liberation, the government built the park in 1950 and opened it to the public free of charge in the same year. The park was closed in the cultural revolution, reopened in 1980 and rebuilt in 1999.

Development history
Before 6 years of the Republic of China, overseas Chinese nearby rented this place as a children's playground. In 6 years of the Republic of China, the industrial and commercial bureau of the concession established it as a park, originally known as sidelai park. Zhoushan Park was changed to Zhoushan Park in the 10th year of the Republic of China. It was opened to Chinese in September of the 20th year of the Republic of China. It was renamed today in June of the 33rd year of the Republic of China. During the Second World War, a large number of Jews came to Shanghai to escape fascist persecution, and the Japanese army set up isolation near the park. During the "Cultural Revolution", the park was forced to stop opening because of building kilns, firing bricks and digging air defense fortifications. The park was renovated in 1978 and reopened that year.
When the park was first built, only some flowers and trees were planted and a small number of children's play facilities were set up. In the 14th year of the Republic of China, a pavilion was built. In the 16th year of the Republic of China, washrooms and drinking fountains were built. During the renovation in 1978, scaffolding and fences were built. In 1983, the greening was adjusted and red leaf plum, Ligustrum lucidum and Hibiscus syriacus were planted. There is a grape trellis in the center of the garden, and rose and Begonia are planted on the left and right flower beds. The south part of the park is the children's activity area, with seesaw, slide, swing chair and other recreational facilities. The pavilions and corridors in the west of the garden are a recreation place for the elderly. In 1994, a new monument was built to explain the Jewish refugee community. There are 41 kinds of trees in the garden, totally 678 trees.

Jewish refugee shelter
The former Jewish refugee shelter is preserved in the park. There is a plaque on the front wall of the building, which reads in Chinese and English: in order to thank the people of Shanghai for accepting Jewish refugees before and during World War II, with the support of the people's Government of Hongkou District, the Israeli government and Israeli enterprises specially contributed to repair the building as a memorial.
