Douxiang Garden

Douxiangyuan is located in the high-end residential area of Pudong, surrounded by many landscape buildings. Separated from Lingshan road is the "golden age", separated from Taolin road is the "Champs Elysees garden", as well as Lujiazui garden and other buildings under construction.

The first phase covers an area of 36139 square meters and is expected to start construction in 2005. It is an open residential park.

Design guidelines

The guiding ideology of the program planning and design is to build the park into a residential park that can meet various functions including leisure, sightseeing, activities and so on, and take the "bean" culture as the characteristic, and closely focus on the landscape layout, planting design, popular science education, entertainment activities, business services and so on, so as to form a special botanical garden with unique cultural connotation in Shanghai.

Principles of planning and design

1) The design principle of "people oriented, harmony between man and nature"

The planning and layout of the park not only meets the daily outdoor leisure and entertainment needs of the elderly, young people and children in the residential area, but also features the "bean" culture, with legumes as the landscaping elements, so that visitors can get spiritual satisfaction in the process of sightseeing.

2) The principle of "green oriented, arbor oriented"

Park planning layout has a certain green coverage. Through the combination of arbor, shrub and grass, the park greening has higher green quantity, so as to develop good ecological benefits.

3) The principle of "adjusting measures to local conditions"

Park Planning fully considers the regional characteristics of the park base, through the mutual penetration of the space inside and outside the park, while meeting the requirements of urban road landscape and residential park. And provide a beautiful overlooking landscape for the surrounding residential high-rise buildings.

Digging lake and piling soil can overcome the high groundwater level in Shanghai, which is not conducive to the growth of some plants, and create good site conditions for all kinds of plants.

Planning and design features

1) Through the planting of leguminous plants, the display of leguminous plants and their extension products in Science Education Museum, and the operation of bean food in restaurants and stores, the broad and long-standing "bean" cultural characteristics of China are displayed.

2) With legumes as the center, and closely combined with the needs of outdoor activities in residential parks, it creates a beautiful landscape visual effect for the morning transportation of the elderly, making friends for the young and children's entertainment.

Scenic spot planning

1. "Wisteria shed" scenic spot

The "Wisteria shed" scenic spot is located in the center of the park, which is composed of the wisteria shed in the center of the scenic spot and the wet area. The scenic spot is guided by a road extending from Lingshan road. The center of the scenic spot is a radial Wisteria flower rack on the oval floor. On the oval floor, we arranged a group of flower beds from large to small in a spiral way. Connected with the oval floor is a wooden level platform with railings.

In the wetland area, natural soil revetment is adopted, and wetland plants are planted along the bank, as well as plants with good Waterside Landscape effect. A pebble trail is set up around the revetment, which can be enlarged locally to form a floor space for staying and resting.

2. "Douxiang village" scenic spot

We set the service buildings along Lingshan road. The buildings are organically combined with the ground part of the underground civil air defense and the sunken square. Because the construction base is mostly in the range of underground civil air defense base, so most of the area is hard square floor. To ease the monotony of the square. We will connect each building with a corridor to enclose each small space. On each small space, we will place a group of classical and modern pieces, such as well cellar, flagpole and abrasive tools. We also use the transformation of materials on the floor of the square to lay a straight road to connect with the "Wisteria shed" scenic spot. On both sides of the straight road, two small dry spray spaces in the shape of right triangles are built. Direct water into the connected lake. The water of the lake communicates with the water system of the "Wisteria shed" scenic spot.

3. "Bauhinia Garden" scenic spot

"Bauhinia Garden" is the most Western scenic spot in the park. The main feature of this area is the large-area planting of various varieties of Bauhinia. The planting of Bauhinia has spread to the southern hillside, hoping to form a lively sea of flowers in spring. The center of "Bauhinia Garden" is a piece of leisure terrace, which can be used for people to rest and stay.

4. "Jueming garden" scenic spot

"Jueming garden" is close to "Bauhinia Garden" and the west entrance of the park. There is a large area of leisure terrace in the scenic area. A fan-shaped flower rack is set up along the interface between the floor and the road to increase the vertical landscape of the scenic spot. The scenic spot is characterized by various species of Cassia obtusifolia.

5. "Hehuan road" scenic spot

This is a scenic area with three axis roads leading into the park from the entrance terrace on the north side of the park. The middle road is 2.5 meters wide, and the two roads on both sides are 1.5 meters wide. We planted a large deciduous legume tree, Albizzia julibrissin, on the inner side of the axis road. We use the path perpendicular to the axis of the road to divide the scenic area into three parts. The first part is close to the north entrance of the park. As the transition of urban landscape and the internal environment of the park, our plant planting form is mainly plastic, which creates a quiet atmosphere for the small space enclosed by the road. The second part intersects with the main road of the park. As the traffic node, we try to consider the symmetry in the layout. And the third part has entered the park, we make it present a natural and fresh side, with the delicate flower border on both sides of the road as the main viewing point.

6. "Dou Xiang Pu" scenic spot

The end of "Hehuan road" is the "douxiangpu" scenic spot. The scenic spot also has two parts, one is "bean appreciation platform", the other is "bean fragrance garden". At the end of Hehuan Road, the platform is a high square floor, on which we set up four metal scaffolding. Legume vines can be grown. The main body of "douxiangpu" is a long green belt arranged along the main road of the park, which connects with the walking path and extends to the "douxiangtai", mainly as a popular science exhibition of legume vegetables.

7. "Erythrina bay" scenic spot

In the south of "douxiangpu" scenic spot, we set up two leisure floors. Among the legumes planted in the leeward and sunny area, Erythrina, which blooms more brightly. And take it as the name of the scenic spot.

8. Robinia forest scenic spot

This is the highest scenic spot in the park, located in the southeast corner of the park. The main body is a sickle shaped flower stand. Around the pavilion, large legume trees mainly composed of Robinia pseudoacacia were planted. The road of the scenic spot is winding, and the main flower rack is hidden in the green trees. It is a quiet leisure place in the park.

9. "Zaogping" scenic spot

"Zaogping" is close to the wet area, which is gradually higher and hidden in the background mountains. The sight of the scenic spot is relatively wide, and the large lawn is decorated with various varieties of Gleditsia sinensis planted in groups.

10. Huaihuapo scenic spot

On the other side of the wet area is the "huaihuapo" scenic spot, which mainly focuses on the Amorpha fruticosa planted in patches along the river bank and the leguminous trees with bright flowers and colors such as Sophora pseudoacacia and Robinia pseudoacacia scattered on the grass slope.

11. Sports area

There is a badminton field in the park, and there is a road to the side of Taolin road and inside the park. At the same time, the park also set up a large area of children's play space. The two sports areas are surrounded by dense forests, which provide better environmental conditions for the activities.

6、 Green planting design

The whole garden takes legumes as the leading role, including trees, shrubs, vines, grasses and flowers. The overall goal is to achieve 100 families, with names and uses marked. In addition to the undulating green space, there are flower racks and vegetable gardens for the display of various leguminous plants. After the completion of the park, leguminous plants will be taken as the landscape, and other evergreen plants and colorful shrubs will be taken as the background to form various communities.
