origin
Before the Ming Dynasty, ships sailing from the Yangtze River could sail directly to the foot of Baiya mountain. So it's a natural port. Chizhou Prefecture in the early Ming Dynasty was Zhili Prefecture in Nanjing. At that time, there was a large amount of commodity circulation here. Gradually formed the port market here. The popularity of shipping promoted the development of logistics and transshipment industry (then called "Yahang", also known as "Yahu"). In order to "take advantage of geography to make up for the shortage of Fengshui in Dapei Chizhou" and "seek prosperity in business, ensure the safety of cargo ships, and ensure the stability of" boats ", about 100 Yahu, who are engaged in transportation, want to raise funds to build the pagoda in order to be blessed: so it is called Baiya pagoda.
Scenery
If you circle up the stairs, you will find that the climbing place of each tower is just right hidden. Sometimes you can find the stone steps leading to the top after turning twice. When you climb to the top floor and look out from the small arch window, you can have a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape: the landscape belt along the Qingxi River extends to the South: near the center of Baiya lake, the long dike is snaking, the arch bridge is curved, and the willow branches beside the Lake are fluttering all the way. Qingxi pagoda and Baiya pagoda look at each other from afar, just like two guards guarding the city.
