Introduction to the Museum
Qianwei Confucian Temple Museum was built in 1998, located in Wenlin street, Yujin Town, Qianwei County, 183 km away from Chengdu and 50 km away from Leshan Giant Buddha.
Qianwei Confucian temple was built in the Northern Song Dynasty and rebuilt in 1371, the fourth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty. It has a history of more than 600 years. It is a place for offering sacrifices to Confucius and promoting and teaching Confucianism. The overall layout of the Confucian temple is located in the north and south, covering an area of 24000 square meters. It is large-scale and well preserved. From the south end, Wanren palace wall, lingxingmen, panchi, dachengmen, liaotai, dachengdian and qishenggong are arranged on the central axis in turn. Xianguan, Shengyu, limen, Yilu, Dongwu and Xiwu are arranged symmetrically. On the southeast side of the Confucian temple are the general square of filial piety and Kui Pavilion, which were built in the Qing Dynasty. Among the existing Confucian temples in China, it ranks the fourth in China, the second in Southwest China and the first in Sichuan.
In 2006, Qianwei Confucian temple was approved by the State Council as the Sixth Batch of national key cultural relics protection units. In 2007, the Confucian Temple "Huanwen Street" was restored and rebuilt, including the theater, Jiexiao temple, gujingtai, Shishi hall, etc. The museum has many books and brochures, such as "Confucianism and Confucian Temple", "Analects of Confucius", "Legend of Confucian Temple", "Qianwei Confucian Temple", "album of Qianwei Confucian Temple", "eight sceneries of Qianwei" and so on. It holds "Confucius worship activities" every year and has become a 3A level cultural tourist attraction.
