scenery
The sea of clouds in Hongling mountain is sometimes like a White Velvet floor, which is like a huge ladder, from 900 meters above sea level to 3000 meters above sea level. Sometimes it's like a magnificent wave, rolling from east to west. The Buddha light sometimes appears several rings at the same time, which are arranged together. The scene and figures are all enclosed in the aura, and people move with them. Each person can only see his own figure, which is wonderful. When the sun goes down, it looks like a huge orange. Suddenly, the sky is full of rosy clouds, and the fir forest and the sea of clouds are all red. The overlapping peaks and the majestic Gongga mountain form a beautiful silhouette. The sunset is as spectacular as the sunrise, as magical as the Buddha's light, and at the same time, it has its own tranquility, which makes people imagine. The scenic wonders of Hongling mountain make many literati linger here. In the 1940s, Master Zhang Daqian visited here and was moved by the wonders of Hongling mountain. He lived there for more than 10 days. He created many landscape paintings, and left behind some good sentences such as "knowing mountains with keen eyes, climbing clouds all over the world" and "gazing at the sun and splashing water".
It is also the unique scenery of Hongling mountain. It used to be a famous Buddhist resort. At most, there are dozens of Buddhist temples, Vatican palaces, Linyu and 128 halls. As a result, the 13th Dalai Lama and the 9th Panchen Lama came here for several months to give lectures.
Hongling mountain is located in Zishi township of Tianquan County. Tianquan County is located in the corridor of Tibetan and Han nationalities, which is the only way to Tibet. The ancient tea horse road in history and the westward advance of Shu in the Three Kingdoms period have all left traces here; the ancient road is a place where the ethnic, economic and cultural blend and develop, and the Chinese nation is connected here. Tianquan was once a blend of Taoism, Tibetan Buddhism and Chinese Buddhism in history. It has many temples, a long history, rich connotation and beautiful natural environment.
According to reliable historical records, Buddhism was introduced into Han and Tibetan areas at the time of the Han Dynasty and during the reign of Songzanganbu (the first half of the 7th century A.D.), and integrated with the local religious culture to form Han Buddhism and Tibetan Buddhism. Han Buddhism developed in Wei, Jin, southern and Northern Dynasties and flourished in Sui and Tang Dynasties. Tianquan was also affected by this cultural exchange. The original Taoist activity field had some Buddhist activities and built some Buddhist temples. Taoism and Buddhism have been blended and developed here and continue to this day. Before liberation, some Taoists were still engaged in the activities of praying for blessings and avoiding disasters in this area. In some Buddhist temples, there are statues of Taoist deities, such as Laojun. In Taoist temples, there are also statues of Buddhist Bodhisattvas. Tibetan Buddhism was formed at the end of the 8th century and the first half of the 9th century, and expanded constantly. Tianquan County is located in the corridor of Tibetan and Han nationalities. It is an important post station along the ancient tea horse road. Economic and cultural exchanges are frequent, and Tibetan Buddhism has also spread from Tibet to Han. It is said that since the Song Dynasty, Tibetans have come to Hongling mountain to worship. In the Yuan Dynasty, Zanpu Jinba silver, the then king of Tibet, built a temple Niangniang hall in Hongling mountain of Tianquan, covering an area of 180 square meters. The site still exists. It is said that before the temple was destroyed, some temples also worshiped Tibetan like Buddha statues. Therefore, from the 1930s to the 1940s, the 13th Dalai Lama and the 9th Panchen Lama went to the mountain to preach scriptures. It is said that they were in the Niangniang hall, and there was a stone left on it to preach scriptures. It can be seen that the development of Tibetan Buddhism in Tianquan is mainly in Hongling mountain. Hongling mountain plays an important role in Tibetan Buddhism, where Chinese Buddhism and Tibetan Buddhism have been blended and developed.
Taking a comprehensive view of the religious development history of Hongling mountain in Tianquan, from the construction in the late Eastern Han Dynasty to the reconstruction in the Kaiyuan period of the Tang Dynasty to the vigorous construction in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, the whole mountain has built 128 temples and monasteries, which is well-known. From the perspective of religious culture, Taoism, Tibetan Buddhism and Han Buddhism have been developed in harmony here.
Historically, it is said that after Zhang Ling listed Mount Emei as the 24 ruling area, he took Hongling mountain as an important spreading place of Tianquan Taoism. The 13th Dalai Lama and the 9th Panchen Lama went to Niangniang hall to give lectures, which proved its important influence and status in Tibetan Buddhism.
Hongling mountain is a religious mountain with many temples and a long history. It is said that in the last years of the Eastern Han Dynasty, after Zhang Ling put Mount Emei into his 24 rule, he included "Honglin mountain" (now "Hongling mountain") in his missionary scope, and sent someone to build a Taoist temple in Leiyin temple. A few years later, it was abolished and the Kaiyuan period was rebuilt. It can be seen that Hongling mountain was originally dominated by Taoism.
Buddhism was promoted in Tang and Song dynasties. Buddhism and Taoism collided with each other. Buddhism gradually replaced Taoism and became the dominant culture of Hongling mountain. At the same time, many Buddhist temples have been built on Hongling mountain. After more than 1000 years of ups and downs, 128 temples, Buddhist temples and more than 1000 Buddhist temples were built in the early Republic of China, which was known as "little Emei". This is recorded in Zhaojue temple and Manjusri temple in Chengdu. Tianquan Buddhism is influenced not only by Tibetan Buddhism in Kangba area, but also by Buddhism in Han area, forming a "Buddhist culture" combining Han and Tibetan with certain characteristics. To a certain extent, the honglingshan Temple group embodies its uniqueness. In history, Hongling mountain was regarded as "Lingshan" in the mind of Kangba monks. In the Song Dynasty, there were Tibetan temples in the Song Dynasty. In the Yuan Dynasty, zanpujin, the king of Tibet, appropriated money to build a Niangniang hall, covering an area of about 180 square meters. There are two Buddhist statues for Tibetans, so the Tibetan and Chinese Buddhism in Hongling mountain has never been handed down from generation to generation.
May 25 of the lunar calendar is Yan Miaofu's birthday, and July 30 of the lunar calendar is the day of his death. These two days are honglingshan temple fair. Every year, many pilgrims from Baoguang temple, Manjusri temple, Ya'an and Ganzi Prefecture of Chengdu come here to worship.
