Wu Changshuo Memorial Hall
Wu Changshuo memorial hall is located in the Huaxia Cultural Park in the Huaxia cultural tourism area of Pudong New Area, Shanghai. In 2010, he moved to No. 15, Lujiazui East Road. The whole building imitates the former residence of Wu Changshuo in jiqingli, Beishan West Road, Shanghai. It is a two-story Shikumen building. The building area is 972 square meters.

In Huaxia Park, Pudong New Area, Shanghai. The building is modeled after Wu Changshuo's former residence in sijiqingli, North Shanxi, Shanghai. Wu Changshuo (1844-1927) is a master of poetry, calligraphy, painting and printing in modern China. He is regarded as a "four unique" painter and a leader of the maritime painting school. Wu Changshuo memorial hall was initiated by Huaxia Cultural Tourism Zone Development Company and Wu Changshuo Art Research Association in early 1994. Huaxia company invested in the construction, with a construction area of 972 square meters and an investment of 3 million yuan. Gong Xueping, vice mayor of Shanghai, unveiled the memorial. The handwritten "Wu Changshuo" bronze characters are inlaid on the simple teak screen. The exhibition room of "Wu Changshuo's art life" is set up in the museum, which is divided into four parts: "rooted in fertile soil", "grinding through difficulties", "famous in Shanghai" and "set up a banner in China". 79 pictures and more than 20 art collections and books are displayed. The exhibition also shows the calligraphy and painting works of Wu Changshuo, his disciples, successors and his art researchers, as well as the four treasures of the study, letters and poetry manuscripts used during his lifetime

In the three exhibition halls, there are more than 100 pieces of Wu Changshuo's Wang Yiting's calligraphy and painting works, including Zhang Er's masterpieces, Yingchi's paintings and poetry manuscripts, landscape paintings, flower and bird paintings, calligraphy and other works. Hundreds of visitors were deeply attracted by the vivid flowers and birds and the characters with different expressions. In his speech, Wang Jingen said that Huzhou has a rich cultural heritage and is known as "the house of silk, the land of fish and rice, the land of culture" and "the land of painting and calligraphy". Since ancient times, it has been a place with a strong artistic atmosphere of calligraphy and painting. It has bred a large number of masters of calligraphy and painting, such as Cao Buxing, Zhao Mengfu, Wu Changshuo, Wang Yiting, and so on. Among them, Wu Changshuo and Wang Yiting are the leaders in the later stage of the maritime painting school, who have made great contributions to the prosperity and development of the maritime painting school. They are known as the "two beauties of the sea", and their artistic achievements have always affected the contemporary maritime art world. Wang Jingen said that Shanghai and lake are geographically close, close to each other, and have the same historical context. Especially in recent years, Huzhou City has fully implemented the strategy of integrating with Shanghai, and the two places have carried out all-round exchanges and cooperation in various fields, such as economy, culture, tourism, etc., forming a brand-new situation of deep love and joint progress between Shanghai and lake. The successful development of the exhibition is due to the sincere cooperation between the cultural and collection circles of Shanghai and lake. After that, the exhibition will be held in Huzhou to strengthen cultural exchanges, deepen understanding, enhance friendship, promote cooperation, and better promote the economic and cultural development and prosperity of the two places.
This exhibition is another large-scale painting and calligraphy exhibition after the exhibition of Zhao Mengfu's treasures home held in Huzhou. A total of 110 pieces of fine paintings and calligraphy by Wu Changshuo and Wang Yiting were exhibited in the exhibition, including 40 pieces from Huzhou Museum, 20 pieces from Wu Changshuo Memorial Hall in Anji, and 50 pieces from Wang Yiting international cultural foundation. The exhibition in Shanghai will last until November 23, and then will be displayed in Huzhou Museum from December 1 to December 20.
Wu Changshuo and Wang Yiting are both masters of calligraphy and painting from Huzhou and leaders of the "maritime painting school" in the later period. Among them, Wu Changshuo is the most influential and long-standing painter in Shanghai. He is the last and the first master of art in the late Qing Dynasty. He has made great contributions to Chinese culture and his artistic achievements have become a monument in the history of Chinese culture; and Wang Yiting, who is also a good friend of Wu Changshuo at the same time, is a genius in the history of Chinese art. He is a calligrapher, entrepreneur, philanthropist and Buddhist. He also founded "Shanghai calligraphy and Painting Research Association", "Shanghai Chinese calligraphy and painting Preservation Association" and "Qingyuan Art Society" (a calligraphy and painting group mainly composed of Huzhou painters) in Shanghai. He enthusiastically helps and sponsors maritime artists With the help of Wang Yiting, he was able to establish himself in Shanghai. It can be said that without Wang Yiting, there would be no success of Wu Changshuo. Wang Yiting's calligraphy and painting works have a high reputation in Japan and other places, and collectors are flocking to them. The two masters, Wu and Wang, have been praised as "two beauties on the sea" by the painting circles at home and abroad.
The exhibition of the two masters' fine works of calligraphy and painting in Shanghai is conducive to further promoting the Hubi culture and creating the "capital of Chinese calligraphy and painting". At the same time, it also lays a foundation for Huzhou to connect with Shanghai, participate in the World Expo and promote the cultural exchange between Shanghai and lake. It is worth mentioning that after the exhibition in Shanghai, it will also be displayed in Huzhou Museum from December 1 to December 20.
