Shanghai World Financial Center has 100 floors, on which there is a sightseeing Pavilion. It is the highest viewing platform in the world, surpassing the CN TV Tower in Canada, which is known as the "world's highest sightseeing hall".
Walking in the 474 meter high sightseeing Pavilion is like walking in the clouds. Overlooking Shanghai, the beautiful scenery on both sides of Pujiang is at the bottom of the eye. It can look straight at the pinnacle of the Oriental Pearl and feel the roof of Jinmao Tower underneath. The glass curtain top of the 97 story sightseeing overpass can be opened. Once the weather conditions permit, tourists can directly look up to see the blue sky and white clouds, truly achieving the unity of man and nature.

Evolution of construction
In December 1995, Shanghai World Financial Center obtained the land use right.
At the beginning of 1997, after the construction of Shanghai World Financial Center, due to the impact of the Asian financial crisis, the project stopped.
On February 23, 2003, the Shanghai World Financial Center held a resumption ceremony. However, as the skyscrapers under construction in Taipei and Hong Kong exceeded the original design height of the Shanghai World Financial Center, the Japanese side modified the original design scheme, changing the design height from 466m to 492m.
In October 2005, the Shanghai World Financial Center announced the final design plan, which changed the original design of the circular cavity on the top of the building to inverted trapezoidal design; on November 16, the Shanghai World Financial Center was fully started.
On April 16, 2006, the first glass curtain wall unit board was installed in Shanghai World Financial Center.

Architectural pattern
Shanghai World Financial Center covers an area of 14400 square meters, with a total construction area of 381600 square meters. It has 101 floors above the ground and 3 floors below the ground, with a height of 492 meters and a square column appearance. The B2, B1, 2 and 3 floors of Shanghai World Financial Center are shopping malls and restaurants; the 7-77 floors are office areas (29 floors are global financial culture communication center); the 79-93 floors are hotels. It's a sightseeing hall.
The sightseeing halls of Shanghai World Financial Center are located on 94, 97 and 100 floors. Among them, the 94 floor sightseeing hall is 423 meters high, with an area of about 750 square meters and a height of 8 meters. The 97 story sightseeing overpass is 439 meters high. It is a floating overpass with an open glass ceiling. The 100th floor is the sightseeing Pavilion, which is located at 474 meters. It is a 55 meter long suspended sightseeing corridor with three transparent glass floors.
On the 90th floor (about 395m) of Shanghai World Financial Center, two typhoon dampers are installed, each weighing 150 tons and 9 meters in length and width. Sensors are used to measure the shaking degree of buildings in the wind, and computer calculation is used to control the direction of damper movement, so as to reduce the shaking caused by strong wind. Because the driving device is designed to move in both vertical and horizontal directions, the wind damper can achieve 360 degree control, and can resist the typhoon of more than 12 levels.
The curtain wall surface of Shanghai World Financial Center is installed with horizontal aluminum alloy grid strip to meet the needs of independent lightning protection and decoration. The total length of the unit glass curtain wall is about 120000 meters, with about 100000 unit panels.
The landscape lighting of Shanghai World Financial Center is generally divided into three types: weekday mode, Sunday mode and festival mode. The system needs to upload and express creative animation effects in real time and correctly. Users can set several common program sources, and can also make programs according to specific festivals and play them at different times. Generally, the program source is flash animation; it can be high-definition DVD transcription (fuzzy display); it can also change the mood and color of the display according to the weather. As the building is 492m high, the design and construction of the project and the lighting effect of the facade must be played in real time, stably and synchronously, and the lighting effect cannot be paralyzed in a large area when some controllers and lamps are damaged.
Architectural features
Shanghai World Financial Center is jointly designed by KPF architectural firm of the U.S.A. and Jinjiang sanzhai design firm of Japan Co., Ltd. the structural design of Shanghai world financial center comes from Lera, which is reinforced concrete structure (SRC structure) and steel structure (s structure). The form and structure of Shanghai global financial center comes from the idea of "heaven and earth integration", which "deduces" high-rise buildings as a link connecting heaven and earth. The main body of Shanghai World Financial Center is a square cylinder, which is formed by the intersection of two huge arched inclined planes gradually narrowing upward at the top. The square prism and large arc intersect each other, highlighting the vertical height of the building. In order to reduce the wind resistance, a huge circular wind tunnel opening was set at the top of the building in the original design, which borrowed the "moon gate" of Chinese garden architecture. Later, the wind tunnel at the top of the building was changed from circular to inverted trapezoid.
The tower of Shanghai World Financial Center is mainly composed of core tube and mega column structure. The self-developed integral lifting steel platform formwork system and imported hydraulic automatic climbing formwork system are adopted for the construction of the structure. The exterior wall decoration of Shanghai World Financial Center tower adopts unit glass curtain wall, and the glass form adopts sandwich hollow or hollow Low-E glass to meet the needs of safety, beauty and energy saving.
