These two monuments, built in different countries and separated by thousands of mountains and rivers, commemorate the same historical event: 66 years ago, the "Nanyang overseas Chinese mechanic service group" composed of 3200 Chinese children from Malaysia and Singapore went to the front line of China's Anti Japanese War and drove to the Yunnan Burma highway to repair cars and transport military supplies. This is the witness of the overseas red blood serving the country, the chain formed by the blood and life of two countries and one nation, and the origin of the friendship between Ma Xing and Yunnan, China. In 1937, China's Anti Japanese war broke out, and in 1939, the Japanese completely blocked China's maritime traffic, and the Yunnan Myanmar highway became the only international transportation artery in China. At that time, there was a lack of vehicles on the dangerous roads, and even less technicians to drive and repair vehicles. At the critical moment, Tan Kah Kee, the leader of overseas Chinese in Singapore and Malaysia, called on overseas Chinese to donate money and goods, buy a large number of cars and military supplies, and organized a large number of Chinese children from Southeast Asia to China to undertake all the transportation tasks of the Yunnan Myanmar highway.

Commemorative significance
These two monuments, built in different countries and separated by thousands of mountains and rivers, commemorate the same historical event: 66 years ago, the "Nanyang overseas Chinese mechanic service group" composed of 3200 Chinese children from Malaysia and Singapore went to the front line of China's Anti Japanese War and drove to the Yunnan Burma highway to repair cars and transport military supplies. This is the witness of the overseas red blood serving the country, the chain formed by the blood and life of two countries and one nation, and the origin of the friendship between Malaysia and Singapore and Yunnan, China.
The compatriots in Singapore and Malaysia did not forget those mechanics who died for the Anti Japanese war. As early as the end of the Anti Japanese War, they built a monument for them at Yishan cemetery in Kuala Lumpur. After the implementation of China's reform and opening-up policy, the Yunnan provincial government set things right. With the promotion and assistance of Singaporean and Malaysian Chinese headed by Mr. Chen Xiangsheng, nephew of Tan Kah Kee and honorary president of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, the Nanyang overseas Chinese aircraft industry Anti Japanese monument was built with Han Baiyu in Xishan, Kunming, Yunnan Province in 1989.
After the outbreak of the Anti Japanese war in 1937, more than 3200 overseas Chinese mechanics living in Singapore, Malaysia and other countries responded to the call of the overseas Chinese leader Tan Kah Kee and returned to China in batches to repair the Yunnan Burma Road and transport International Anti Japanese materials. Yunnan Myanmar highway
Up to the victory of the Anti Japanese War, more than 1000 of these 3000 overseas Chinese mechanics had died on this "road of death". More than 1000 of them survived and returned to Malaysia and Singapore, while more than 1000 of them chose to stay in China. In the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, these remaining machinists had a short-term glory. However, for a long time, they lived in obscurity in a forgotten corner.
