Taizhou School Memorial

Taizhou School memorial hall is located in Taizhou chongru temple. This ancestral hall dedicated to Wang Gen was built in the fourth year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty. After 400 years, it is still well preserved. In order to commemorate the 530th anniversary of Wang Gen's birth, the Management Committee of fengchenghe scenic area has re exhibited the ancestral hall and built a memorial hall of "Taizhou School".

Introduction to exhibition area

There are four existing buildings in chongru temple, and the exhibition content of the memorial hall of Taizhou School has five sections.

The first entrance gate is inlaid with the stone forehead of "chongru Temple". Stone drums are erected on both sides of the gate, and eight character walls are built on both sides.

The second is the libentang, which displays an introduction to Wang Gen's life and members of Taizhou School.

The third entrance music school mainly displays the main ideas of Wang Gen and the important members of Taizhou School, as well as the comparison with the ideas of western thinkers in the same period. Among them, the comparison between the views of the members of Taizhou School and those of the western thinkers at the same time is a new content.

In order to provide you with a place to remember Wang Gen, the new exhibition specially added a site for sacrifice. The fourth entrance of chongru temple is xianjue hall. Previously, Wang Gen's bust and the newly carved marble Wang Gen's yuexuege were presented to display the historical materials of Wang Gen's cultural relics and famous calligraphy and painting. After the re exhibition, there is a place for offering sacrifices to Wang Gen in the middle, and sculptures are used on both sides to reproduce Wang Gen's lectures and preaching in the north.

In the fourth part of pianting, it mainly shows the influence of Taizhou School and the evaluation of scholars at home and abroad. In the courtyard on the west side stands the bronze statue of Wang Gen, and the winding corridors, ponds, rockeries, bamboo and so on form a beautiful landscape.

Commemorative significance

The trial opening of Taizhou School memorial hall is now available for free, which indicates that the museum will become a new highlight of inheriting and protecting Taizhou's excellent traditional culture, and also adds a new landscape to Fengcheng River scenic spot.

Taizhou School memorial hall is located in chongru temple, 92 Wuyi Road, west of guangxiaolu temple. At present, local people can visit the museum free of charge with their ID cards.
