Development history

From 1957 to 1959, the average number of people who took part in voluntary labor was more than 300. Among them, the staff of Cangkou District Committee and people's Committee of the Communist Party of China, the teachers and students of rubber industry school and Qingdao No.3 middle school have made great contributions.

In 1958, a wooden pavilion (covering an area of 16 square meters) was built in the park; in the same period, two Park doorstacks were built in the East and south directions; in 1965, two pavilions, five greenhouses (covering an area of 80 square meters), one bird cage (covering an area of 44.5 square meters), two peacock cages (covering an area of 47 square meters), one small animal house (covering an area of 35.7 square meters), two monkey cages (covering an area of 18 square meters) and one deer Garden (covering an area of 27 square meters) were built, The activity area is 280 square meters. In 1972, a cold room with an area of 120 square meters was built; in 1983, the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of landscape architecture, together with the Qingdao Municipal Women's Federation, launched various factories and enterprises in Cangkou district to raise funds to build a children's amusement park with more than 10 kinds of large children's toys, such as electric turntables.

Since 1957, trees have been planted every year in the park to increase the green area and improve the horticultural level and greening effect. There are more than 100 kinds of plant species in the park, including nearly 4000 trees, 3500 shrubs, more than 1000 meters of hedgerow and 6000 square meters of lawn. The ratio of evergreen tree species to deciduous tree species was 1 ∶ 1.2 in arbor and 1 ∶ 0.75 in shrub?. By the end of 1990, the park had increased its water area to 2800 square meters. Since the 1980s, a number of rare flowers have been introduced and cultivated in the greenhouse of the park, and winter ornamental varieties such as Rhododendron, pinacorn and Camellia have been developed, which has improved the ornamental effect and economic benefits.

Among the evergreen trees in the park, Cedrus deodara, Sabina chinensis, Sabina chinensis, Pinus thunbergii, Platycladus orientalis, Sabina cylindrica, Sabina wanfengensis, Sabina przewalskii and Sabina pendula are the most abundant; The most deciduous trees are Prunus Cerasus, Tilia amurensis, Prunus rubra, weeping willow, Fatong, Populus tomentosa, Populus canadensis, Qingpu, Wujiaofeng, Robinia pseudoacacia, Ailanthus altissima, Albizzia julibrissin, Lagerstroemia indica, Sophora japonica, Ulmus pumila, Prunus persica, tamarisk ash, tamarisk ash, white wax, tassel, Acer henryi, etc. There are also precious and rare tree species planted in a small number. Animals on display include monkeys, peacocks, cranes, sika deer, etc.
