The original Temple of emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty
The original Temple of Han Gaozu, located in Peixian County, Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province, is a two-way palace. In 195b.c., Liu Bang, Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty, after calming down the rebellion, made a special trip to the state of Lu to offer sacrifices to Confucius. On the way back to his hometown of Fengxian, he passed by the Sishui Pavilion in Peixian, where he was once the head of the pavilion. Pei's father and elder invited him to a banquet to teach the children of the general horn to sing Dafeng song, which is called gefengtai by later generations.
In the first year of emperor Xiaohui's reign, the Liu family built the original Temple of Gaozu, while the Liubang's hometown, Fengxian County, had built a Liuyu temple to offer sacrifices to Liu's ancestors. Therefore, in the fifth year of emperor Xiaohui, Emperor Gaozu once served in the Sishui Pavilion, so the original Temple of emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty was built beside the Sishui Pavilion. It was also the latest Gaozu temple in China at that time. After the Song Dynasty, it did not exist. Peixian county was rebuilt in 1996. At present, the gate of the temple is inscribed by Zhao Puchu, a great calligrapher, and the main hall "Lepei hall" is inscribed by Wang Bingshi, chairman of Xuzhou Calligrapher's Association. On both sides of the hall are portraits of 24 emperors of the Han Dynasty. The green pines and green cypresses in the courtyard are newly engraved with a stele of "inscription on the original Temple of Gaozu of Han Dynasty" written by Liu Zongyuan, a great scholar of Tang Dynasty.
