Henan Zhengzhou Yellow River National Wetland Park is located in the north of Huiji District, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, on the south side of the Yellow River between the Yellow River floating bridge and the Yellow River Highway Bridge in Huiji District, Zhengzhou city. The park is adjacent to Houzhai village, Niuzhuang village, qianliu village, Dahe Road office, Lixihe village and Huayuankou village from west to East. It covers an area of 2390 hectares. Zhengzhou Yellow River National Wetland Park consists of six functional areas: science popularization and education area, leisure and entertainment area, beach exploration area, ecological conservation area, Yellow River farming culture area and comprehensive service area.

Resources

There are 345 species of plants belonging to 185 genera of 45 families in the Wetland Park, including dominant communities such as Imperata, Phragmites australis, Tamarix chinensis, silver grass, etc., as well as wild soybean, a national second-class protected plant. 114 species of birds were recorded, including 2 species of Oriental White Stork and black stork, 16 species of white spoonbill, swan and common buzzard, 4 species of amphibians and 3 species of reptiles.

Development and construction

The Yellow River wetland is an important ecological resource in our city. In 2004, it was approved by the provincial government to establish a reserve. In November 2008, the State Forestry Administration approved the establishment of Zhengzhou National Yellow River Wetland Park (pilot). Since 2009, the municipal finance has arranged a special fund of 18 million yuan for the construction of the wetland park. In December 2011, the construction of Zhengzhou National Yellow River Wetland Park demonstration park was started. It was completed and opened on April 28, 2012. In December 2015, it passed the pilot acceptance of the State Forestry Administration and officially became a national wetland park .

Over the past six years, the wetland park has been in strict accordance with the requirements of the National Wetland Park construction specification and the master plan of Zhengzhou Yellow River National Wetland Park, adhering to the principles of "protection priority, scientific restoration, rational utilization, sustainable development" and "unified planning, phased implementation", giving priority to the comprehensive protection of ecological conservation areas, and giving priority to the implementation of protection restoration and science popularization and education Infrastructure construction. We have completed the original ecological wetland protection and restoration project, water system communication project, science popularization and education and other infrastructure construction projects in the ecological conservation area. We have protected 3300 mu of original ecological wetland and restored 430 mu of wetland. It has completed 3100 meters of communication water system, 6600 meters of isolation fence, 519 square meters of scientific research monitoring station, 16700 square meters of gate square, 437 square meters of management and service center, 300 square meters of science popularization corridor, 3100 meters of sightseeing trestle, 1600 meters of park tour road, bird watching platform, etc.
