Changle Park
Changle Park, located in the ancient city of Xi'an, is located in the south of the new urban area, adjacent to the East 2nd Ring Road in the west, Xi'an Engineering University in the south, and the old campus of Xi'an University of technology in the north, about two kilometers away from Xingqing park.
As an important place for leisure and entertainment in the eastern suburbs, Changle park not only has perfect leisure facilities, but also has a green plant area of 89.6%, second only to Xingqing Park and Fengqing park.
Development history
The predecessor of Changle Park was hansenzhai nursery established in 1956, covering an area of 333.33 mu, which was one of the largest nurseries in Xi'an at that time. In 1976, in order to house a group of tropical animals donated by Japan, hansenzhai nursery was transformed into Xi'an zoo, which was officially opened to tourists in 1977. Since then, it has become a landmark in the eastern suburb of Xi'an.
In 2004, due to space constraints and the increase in the number of animals, the original area has been unable to meet the needs. Therefore, Xi'an city set up the Qinling wildlife park to move all the original animals to the Qinling Mountains. Since 2005, Xi'an municipal Party committee and government have successively invested 22 million yuan to transform the infrastructure of Changle Park, gradually demolished all kinds of facilities serving animals in the park, and built nine new scenic spots, including Albizia garden, cherry blossom forest and footprint square, with a total area of 13650 square meters of garden square and green space. So far, Changle park has been officially named and opened to the public free of charge in January 2006.
