Peng Zhen's former residence

The former residence of Pengzhen, Houma, Linfen city is a century old house witnessing the revolution and a famous red tourist attraction. The former residence is two hole Tuyao cave, which was the residence of Comrade Peng Zhen in his childhood. The cave is 7.5 meters from east to west, 13 meters from north to south, 3 meters wide and 6.5 meters deep. In the middle wall of the two holes, there are holes in the middle. In the North hole, there are pits 2.5 meters long and 1.7 meters wide. In the South hole, there is a kitchen in front of it and a storehouse behind it.

Pengzhen's former residence is located in the southeast corner of Longshang village, Houma City, Shanxi Province, covering a total area of 63.8 mu, with a total construction area of 9200 square meters and an exhibition hall area of 4130 square meters. It has three exhibition halls (namely, the hall of admiration, the hall of remembrance and the hall of encouragement) and a protection hall, so that all sectors of the society can have the opportunity to remember the elder Pengzhen.

Peng Zhen's former residence

Peng Zhen's former residence is located in Longshang village, Houma City, Linfen City, Shanxi Province. On October 12, 1902, Peng Zhen was born in a two hole cave in the West Ditch of Longshang village. The cave sits from west to East. There are no other things in the cave except earth pits, pots and stoves and a few simple wooden furniture.

After years of precipitation, the cave was in disrepair for a long time, and it was renovated in 2011!

From the end of the epidemic to December 31, 2020, medical workers across the country (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) can visit the scenic spot free of charge with valid certificates.

Comrade Peng Zhen is a great proletarian revolutionist and one of the important leaders of the party and the state. Peng Zhen, formerly known as Fu MaoGong, was born in Longshang village, Houma City in 1902 and spent his youth here.

In 1937, the railway working committee was established in the cave of Peng Zhen's family. Comrade Peng Zhen returned to his former residence three times before he died, and delivered a speech to the villagers here. Pengzhen's former residence is a symbol of the revolution. There is a courtyard, covering an area of about 300 square meters, with three holes in the West kiln and three rooms in the north. In 1986, Houma City strengthened and renovated its former residence, restoring its historical appearance. The former residence displays the desks and chairs, farm tools used by Comrade Peng Zhen and precious photos of Comrade Peng Zhen's revolutionary activities.

Comrade Peng Zhen, formerly known as Fu MaoGong, lived and lived in his former residence for 19 years. At the age of 7, he began to help his father work in the fields and help his mother spin. At the age of 12, he went to private school for a few days. At the age of 17, he was admitted to the second primary school in Quwo County. Under the influence of the May 4th New Culture Movement, Peng Zhen began to sprout anti imperialist and anti feudal patriotism, and was elected by the students as the propaganda team leader to lead the students to the school The street processions and the struggles against smoking, gambling, foot binding and foreign goods initially showed excellent organizational and leadership skills. In 1922, he was admitted to Shanxi provincial No.1 middle school from his hometown Houma, and joined the Communist Party of China in 1923. From then on, he bid farewell to his hometown and devoted himself to the great proletarian revolutionary cause. He has successively served as the first secretary and mayor of Beijing Municipal Party committee and Secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee. In 1983, he was elected chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, he returned to Houma three times. In 1986, when he returned to Houma, he wrote an inscription: unite and struggle to build Houma better.

In the 1980s, cracks appeared on the top of the 100 year old kiln, which had lived in the Fu family for five generations. Some of the kilns began to collapse and rain and water leaked. In order to protect the revolutionary cultural relics, Houma municipal government carried out small-scale processing and renovation. In 2002, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Peng Zhen's birth, Houma municipal government renovated it again and erected a bronze bust of Peng Zhen in front of his former residence. Now Peng Zhen's former residence has become a patriotic education base for people to cherish the great achievements of great men and look forward to their lofty demeanor. In 2003, Peng Zhen's former residence was designated as a provincial cultural relic protection unit and a patriotic education base in Shanxi Province. In the past three years, it has received more than 20000 people.

Renovate

On October 12, 2011, the foundation laying ceremony of Peng Zhen's life and the renovation of Peng Zhen's former residence of Houma branch of Taiyuan Branch memorial hall was held in Longshang village, Houma City.

As an important part of the memorial hall of Peng Zhen's life and the former site of Taiyuan branch of the Communist Party of China, the purpose of the renovation project of Peng Zhen's former residence is to carry out rescue, protection and renovation in combination with the current situation of Peng Zhen's former residence. The first phase renovation project of Pengzhen's former residence is planned and constructed according to "one axis (refers to the North-South landscape main axis formed by the former residence, incentive area and entrance square), two squares (refers to the distribution square and sculpture square), and three exhibition areas (viewing area, memorial area and incentive area)". It covers an area of 62 mu, with a total construction area of 5000 square meters. The construction period of the project is one year. On October 12, 2012, the ribbon was cut on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of Peng Zhen's birth.
