Maiwa temple is the most famous Tibetan Buddhist temple in Hongyuan. The temple is located behind amukehe Township between Hongyuan county and Ruoergai highway in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province, 17 kilometers away from Hongyuan county. There is still an 8 km dirt road from the branch road of Hongyuan Zoige road full of prayer flags to the temple. Maiwa temple, also known as Vientiane Daci Falun Chau, is the largest temple of Ningma sect of Tibetan Buddhism in grassland. Its sects are widely spread at home and abroad, and have certain international influence. It has a history of nearly 350 years. It is well-known in the Buddhist world.
Historical evolution
When the temple was established in 1646, it was not in Hongyuan County, but in Ganzi. It is said that it was the place where Pino, one of the seven Buddhist monks of Tibetan Buddhism, lived. When it was first built, it was called Mairu temple. After several twists and turns, Mairu Temple moved to amukakou with Maiwa tribe in 1929. At that time, it was a tent temple. In 1940, the Da CI Falun forest of Vientiane in Maiwa laid the foundation for ending the history of tent temple. Since then, people used to call the temple Maiwa temple. In 1958, the Sutra hall was completed and a great pagoda was built. During the period of "people's reform", Maiwa temple was designated as a reserved temple, which carried out the reform of the temple, abolished the religious privileges, and most of the monks went home. During the cultural revolution, most of the temple buildings were destroyed. In 1979, Maiwa temple was restored to tent temple, and the temple was dominated by shiraja musan. In October 1982, the 10th Panchen Lama confirmed that the temple was located in amukakou, and personally instructed: "in order to inherit and carry forward the Buddhist dharma, please restore and rebuild the Dharma lunlin of the great compassion of Vientiane in amuke.". In 1983, the construction of Maiwa temple, which we see today, was started by the state and the masses. In 1990, the new main hall was basically completed, and gradually completed one Wuming Buddhist College and one monasteries, becoming the largest Ningma monastery in Northwest Sichuan.

On the side near the road around the temple, a long turning room stretches for nearly 1 km, like a magnificent corridor, which embraces the whole temple together with the mountains on the back of the temple. The Mountain Gate of the temple is located in the middle of the zhuanjing room. Entering the mountain gate, you can directly reach the temple hall along the road.

The newly completed temple hall is 63 meters long, 48 meters wide and 21.5 meters high, with a total construction area of 6048 square meters. The main hall is located on the hillside, facing the south, surrounded by mountains on all sides. In front of it, the amuke river meanders through, with blue sky, white clouds and green fields on the plateau, reflecting the majestic and majestic of the temple. The main hall is of reinforced concrete structure, which combines traditional religious art with modern building materials. It is a typical Tibetan Chinese style building. During the construction, skilled craftsmen from all over the country cooperated with each other to complete this hall, which can be called the hall of Tibetan culture and religious art. The main hall is a square building. The top of the hall is yellow glazed tiles on the top of Xieshan mountain. The back of the hall is decorated with gold-plated Falun with copper bottom. The hall is decorated with carved beams and painted buildings and embossed Zhu Zhu Zhu. The color is gorgeous and resplendent. There are three floors of the main hall, the first floor is the Sutra hall, the second floor is the Sutra library, and the third floor is the golden hall.
The hall was not completely completed, and several Lamas were busy carrying construction materials in and out of the hall. As several believers were kowtowing, the emperor's children's shoes helped to carry sacks on their heads and shoulders, which made the lamas grateful and saluted repeatedly.
