Jinyang Lake
Jinyang Lake is located in Jinsheng Town, the southern end of Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. It is adjacent to Jinci double line road in the East, the largest Taiyuan No.1 Thermal Power Plant in Shanxi Province in the west, the ancient Jinyang city with a long history and the famous Jinci tourist resort in the south.
In the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, a power plant reservoir was artificially excavated, which has been developed as a tourist attraction. It is the largest artificial lake in North China. The name of "Jinyang Lake" has a long history. According to legend, Taiyuan area in ancient times was a vast expanse of water, called Jinyang Lake.
The origin of the name
Dayu wanted to develop it and let people live in this fertile land, but he didn't know how to get the water back, so he thought hard and couldn't eat. One night, the storm was raging and the waves were rough on Jinyang Lake. However, a small boat rose and fell in the wind and waves. Yu approached the big boat. It turned out that an old woman was catching fish. Yu asked the woman to get on the boat to avoid the wind and waves, and offered a glass of wine very respectfully. Without saying a word, the old woman stretched out her finger and popped a gap in the glass. The wine flowed completely and the old woman disappeared. Yu was so surprised that he suddenly woke up. After investigation, he dug a hole in Lingshi County and let the water flow back to the river channel, thus forming today's Taiyuan Basin. So he left the old saying "open lingshikou, empty Jinyang Lake".
ecological environment
In 1958, Taiyuan aquaculture farm was established, relying on the lake to carry out aquaculture, and gradually become the largest famous and excellent commercial fish breeding base and a series of high-quality fish fry training base in our province. The output of aquatic products once reached 2 million kg. However, in recent years, the fish fry investment of Taiyuan aquaculture farm has increased from 100000 yuan to 200000 yuan, but the fish production has been declining year by year, gradually reducing to the present 200000 kg and 300000 kg, with the production decreasing by 90%. The root cause of this phenomenon is cage fishing, disorderly cage farming, and nearby villagers stealing fish, which seriously damaged the lake farming.
The water of Jinyang Lake is introduced from the west main canal of Fenhe River. The water quality is good. The average depth is 4 meters, and the deepest is 8 meters. It is 3 kilometers away from the urban area, and the lake area is 4.8 square kilometers. The highest water temperature is 33 ℃ in summer and 8-15 ℃ in winter. Jinyang Lake is located in the north of Jinyang ancient city ruins and the east of Jinsheng town government in Jinyuan District. Taiyuan municipal government has decided to build Jinyang Lake Park, covering an area of 11.2 square kilometers.
Environmental layout
The park is planned to be a green belt around the lake, a water park, a fishing area, a cultural and entertainment area, a plant park, a resort, a camping area, a hunting ground, and a life service area. The construction period is from 1996 to 1998. The first phase of the project is to fill the dykes and dams along the lake, plant trees, build roads along the lake, and equip yachts, fishing and other recreational facilities. After completion, the park will become the largest lake park in the whole province and even in North China. Around the lake are villages such as Jinsheng, Dongru, Chengbei, Jizhen, Wujiazhuang, Beifu, Nanfu, and factories such as Taiyuan Chemical Fertilizer Plant and Taiyuan No.1 Thermal Power Plant. There are two highways, Jinci Road double line and taifen Road, running through the north and south respectively.

With a water area of 5.1 square kilometers and a water storage capacity of 24 million cubic meters, it is the largest artificial lake in North China, known as "North Lake of China", which is slightly smaller than the West Lake in Hangzhou and larger than Kunming Lake in Beijing and Xuanwu Lake in Nanjing. The lake is rich in silver carp, carp, tilapia and other fish, with an annual output of 236 tons.
The surrounding area of Jinyang Lake has vast land, convenient transportation, microwave rippling on the surface of the lake, willow shade on the bank, water entertainment, yacht, motorboat, fishing, swimming and other facilities, and numerous catering and accommodation services. It is an ideal tourist resort. With the development of small town economy, Jinyang Lake area has planned nine districts and one Park (i.e. water entertainment area, swimming area, fishing area, central service area, green food processing area, sightseeing agriculture area, sightseeing aquaculture area, villa area, sightseeing horticulture area and Lotus Garden) for domestic and foreign merchants to choose and develop.
Introduction to the park
Jinyang Lake Park is located 10 kilometers away from the old city of Taiyuan, with a water surface area of 4.8 square kilometers, an average water depth of 5 meters, and a water storage capacity of 24 million cubic meters. It is the largest artificial lake in North China, and its area is slightly smaller than that of Hangzhou West Lake. Jinyang Lake Park is located between nine villages and one factory (Wujiabao, Beifu, Nanfu, Chengbei, Dongru, Xizhai, jiajiazhuang, Jinsheng, Jizhen, and the first factory is Taiyuan No.1 Thermal Power Plant). It has xinjinci road in the East, taifen road in the west, Fengyu Valley in the South and Taiyuan No.1 thermal power plant in the north Yeyu river. At the same time, it is also the starting point of Jinci, Tianlongshan scenic spot, romance city of the Three Kingdoms, Shentanggou hot spring and Mengshan Giant Buddha tourism hotline. The development and construction of Jinyang Lake Park will promote the development of the surrounding area of Jinyang Lake, improve the city's grade of eco-tourism, improve the city's ecological environment, enrich the citizens' spare time life, and play a positive role in promoting the application for national garden city and the construction of ecological garden city.
