Protection and restoration
On September 21, 1990, marshal Xu Qianqian died in Beijing at the age of 88. In accordance with Xu Shuai's last wish, his ashes were scattered in Taihang Mountain, Dabie Mountain, Daba Mountain and Qilian Mountain, and some of them were sent back to Wutai County and placed in the martyrs' cemetery, thus fulfilling his long cherished wish of returning to his roots. In order to remember Marshal Xu Qianxiang's great achievements and open up a place for traditional patriotism and revolutionism education to the young generation and the whole county people, the Wutai County Party committee and the county people's Government of the Communist Party of China, on behalf of the wishes of 300000 people in the county, asked for the restoration of Xu Qianxiang's former residence. At that time, Wutai County had just transformed the museum into a memorial of Xu Jiyu's life and cultural relics. Comrade Zhang Yi, then deputy director of the Provincial Bureau of cultural relics, visited Wutai. Accompanied by Zhao Peicheng, he visited Xu Qianqian's former residence. In the face of the dilapidation of Xu Shuai's former residence and the luxury of Yan Xishan's former residence, director Zhang Yi sighed and decided on the spot to agree to the application of Wutai County for the restoration of Xu Shuai's former residence, and allocated 50000 yuan to support it. Bai Zhenxiang, Deputy Commissioner of Xinzhou administration, also expressed positive support and allocated 30000 yuan. At the same time, the Wutai County Party committee and the county people's Government of the Communist Party of China decided to allocate 50000 yuan to express their support. At the same time, the Wutai County Party committee and the county people's Government of the Communist Party of China sent special personnel to discuss and exchange with Huang Jie, the wife of Marshal Xu Qianqian, and his children on the plan of restoring Xu Qianqian's former residence, and also agreed.
After the plan for the restoration of Xu Shuai's former residence was determined, the county Party committee and government decided to entrust the project to the Party committee and government of Dongye Town, headed by Han Zhengzhong, Secretary of the Party committee of Dongye Town, and organize the first engineering team of Dongye town construction and installation engineering company to be responsible for the implementation. Since Xu Shuai's former residence is still borrowed by Xu Chengzu, it is decided that Yong'an village committee and Dongye town government will grant Xu Chengzu a homestead with certain economic compensation. After Xu Chengzu moved out, construction began immediately. Although Xu Shuai's former residence is dilapidated, the original house is still in use. It is designed according to the drawings of the old house, and then demolished and renovated. But the original house 3, the second floor has already demolished, 3 bungalows are not the original appearance. In order to restore the old appearance of Xu Shuai's former residence, Dongye town government and construction designers held many insider forums to recall the old appearance of Xu Shuai's former residence, including the height of the room, the width of the Bay, the thickness of the wooden column, the far-reaching eaves, the style of the roof tile, the ridge shape, etc. they tried to repair the old as before. After careful investigation and careful design, they completed the architectural design drawings. According to the design requirements, we purchased high-quality wood, bricks and tiles from Xinzhou, Wutai and other places, and dispatched experienced and skilled carpenters and plasterers for construction. Han Zhengzhong and other leaders of the town government often go deep into the scene to supervise and inspect. After 7 months of intensive construction, the main building of the former residence was successfully completed. In order to educate the students of Yong'an village in revolutionary tradition, the town government organized the school teachers and students to pick up pebbles on the beach for many times, and paved the passageway and flower pool in Xu Shuai's former residence. In the winter of 1991, the restoration of Xu Shuai's former residence was basically completed. After the provincial cultural relics department appraisal and acceptance, the quality is excellent, reaching the standard. The total investment is 110000 yuan.
