Baoding botanical garden, located in the north of Baoding City, is an extension of the original Hongqi nursery. It is adjacent to the North 2nd Ring Road in the South and sunshine North Street in the west, with a total area of 110 hectares and an investment of 114 million yuan. The master plan of the botanical garden is presided over by Professor Yu Shuxun, a botanical garden expert of China Landscape Architecture Planning and design center. It is a comprehensive garden integrating science popularization, leisure and entertainment. The whole park started construction in March 2000 and opened in July 2003.

Main attractions

Main gate square

The main gate square covers an area of 12000 square meters, all of which are paved with granite. The pattern is a huge ring shape, which means that our city has a long history. The flower belt in front of the square is composed of yellow, green and purple, just like a rainbow flying over the main gate square after rain. There are seven original stones in different colors and shapes on the square, which are placed in the form of the Big Dipper, so they are called "Seven Star Stone". The original stones are engraved with the names of each star in ancient astronomy, such as Tianshu, Tianquan, Kaiyang, Yuheng, etc. Baoding botanical garden was inscribed by Liu Bingsen, a famous calligrapher in China. The main gate of the botanical garden is composed of 11 ancient Robinia pseudoacacia trees in three groups, with the thickest diameter of 6 meters and the highest height of 25 meters. The trees are simple, magnificent and lifelike. The reason why we choose the ancient pagoda tree as the main gate is that it is the city tree of our city and the symbol of the ancient city, which can fully reflect the historical and cultural characteristics of our city. The whole square is mainly made of hard pavement, combining virtual with real, which provides an open and spectacular viewing space for tourists.

Garden Avenue

Garden Avenue is the first group of landscape after entering the garden. Garden Avenue is 315 meters long and 40 meters wide. The main scenery is a 22 meter wide green landscape area in the middle, which mainly embodies the philosophy of "people-oriented, harmony between man and nature" and "organic combination between man and nature". According to the relationship between man and nature from the beginning to the harmonious coexistence between man and nature today, it is divided into eight landscape areas.

Scene one, colorful square. As the continuation of the main gate square, the square is paved with seven color granite. Its implication is to remind people to enter the ever-changing and colorful world of plants, and also show the mood of the botanical garden to welcome the guests.

The second scene is the natural green area. As the background of the main gate, the layout of plants and rocks imitates nature, implying that human destiny is completely dependent on nature in the initial stage. And fully reflect the beauty of its natural green space.

The third scene is Fenghua district. The regular layout of Western gardens is adopted in this area, and grass flowers are planted in the middle. The colors of grass flowers are coordinated and changed with seasons. This period was also the time when regular gardens flourished in the West.
