Bohai building
Bohai tower, built in 1933, is located in rue du chaylard, the main street of the former French concession in Tianjin (now 275-281 Heping Road, Heping District). As one of the important buildings preserved in Tianjin concession era, the building is now a cultural relic protection unit and a historical building with special protection level in Tianjin.

Bohai tower is located in rue du chaylard, rue Pasteur, rue Fontanier, rue de la Marne and rue Paul, the main streets of the former French concession in Tianjin Northwest corner of Wucha Road (275-281 Heping Road, the intersection of Heping Road, Chifeng Road and Dandong Road, Heping District, Tianjin).
history
In 1933, Bohai building was designed by Yonghe construction company of French business. Prince Zaizhen of Qing Dynasty and Gao Xingqiao jointly owned the building, and Gao Bohai, general manager of Jinbao Coal Sales Department of Jingjing Mining Bureau, invested in the construction after demolishing the original building. In 1936, Bohai building was completed. When it was completed, it was the largest and newest modern style high-rise building in Tianjin. Gao Bohai, the son of Gao Xingqiao, was named "Bohai tower" after him. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Tianjin Municipal People's government transformed the Bohai building into a guest house. In 1966, Bohai building was renamed "people's building". In 1976, in the Tangshan earthquake, the Bohai building was intact. In 1979, Bohai building was restored to its original name and changed to national hotel No.2. Bohai building is used by Nanyuan e business chain hotel.

Building Exterior
Bohai building has a total construction area of 4571.13 square meters, including an area of 551.34 square meters. The main building has eight floors and some parts have ten floors. The height of the first floor is 5.13 meters. The height of each floor from the second floor to the eighth floor is 3.91 meters. The height of the ninth floor is 3.16 meters and the height of the tenth floor is 4.88 meters. There is a square cloud Pavilion on the top of the main building, which is 3.65 meters high. The total building height of Bohai building is 47.47 meters. The main body of the building is a cast-in-place reinforced concrete full frame structure building. The foundation method of the building is to use American pine square wood and Philippine wood to pile plum blossom piles, and use brick concrete cushion with ground beams to fill the red reinforced concrete foundation. The foundation shape is irregular Pentagon. The facade of the building for lighting and ventilation needs to face south, Southeast and southwest, and East concave. The interior of the building is built with more than 90 steel columns, which are welded together and filled with brick walls to form external eaves. The interior of the wall is built with hollow bricks. The first floor is made of broken brick concrete, the second floor to the ninth floor are made of reinforced concrete with small ribs, and the floor and roof of the 10th floor and Yunting are made of cast-in-place reinforced concrete. The exterior wall of Bohai building is tortuous and changeable, with various facade styles. The front wall of the first floor is light colored marble and decorated with jujube red marble, decorated with multiple horizontal strips. The facade between the first floor and the second floor is decorated with three waist lines. The front wall above the second floor is filled with special red brick and decorated with brown pitted brick. The vertical lines composed of triple windows make the whole vertical Composition. The cantilever structure is adopted at the corner of the building to make the front window protrude from the wall. The outer eaves on the back of the building are clear water wall with Liugang brick and double wooden glass windows.
Inside the building
The internal ground of Bohai building is made of terrazzo, and the layout of each floor is as follows: the first floor of the building is for commercial shops and business offices; some rooms on the second floor of the building are the supporting buildings for commercial shops on the first floor, and the remaining rooms are still business offices. There are 9 rooms on each floor from the third floor to the seventh floor of the building, with a total of 45 rooms, which are used for internal transactions. The interior decoration of the rooms is simple and convenient Water, heating and public toilets are well equipped. Among the five floors, there is a broken line corridor in the interior, and an outer corridor on one side of the back patio; the eighth floor of the building is equipped with kitchen, storage room and dining room, etc. as the Bohai building shrinks from the eighth floor to the upper floor, the area of the eighth floor is smaller than that of the lower floors, so the number of rooms included in the eighth floor is also reduced accordingly. The ninth to tenth floors of the building are equipped with elevator room and water tank room. There is an elevator inside Bohai building, which connects four different types of small stairs on the first floor and the second floor, a main staircase from the first floor to the eighth floor, a spiral staircase from the ninth floor to the top floor, and an iron ladder from the top floor to Yunting. The building is one of the masterpieces of early modern high-rise buildings in Tianjin.
