The former Swire house is a Swire house. It is one of the early foreign houses in Tianjin and the second largest one after Jardine Matheson.

Founded in 1812 in the port of Liverpool, Scotland, the bank mainly engaged in shipping, and then moved its head office to London. Tianjin Branch was founded in 1881. It once monopolized China's shipping industry with Yihe and foreign company. Later, it also engaged in sugar, paint, insurance, barge and other businesses. Swire Pacific was originally located in a few bungalows on Taierzhuang road. It developed rapidly in just a few years. In 1886, it built the Swire Pacific Building with the accumulated funds. By the early 1930s, Swire Pacific had 79 ships with a gross tonnage of more than 1.5 million tons.
The building reaches Taiyuan Road in the East, Jiefang North Road in the south, Dalian Road in the West and Taierzhuang road in the north. With a construction area of 1971.27 square meters, it is a two-story building of brick and wood structure with fair faced wall. The plane is in the shape of "concave", with high terrace entrance and upper part as platform. The doors and windows are arched, and the lintels on the first floor are decorated with radial flowers. Flat top with parapet. The design is novel and the style is unique. The building basically remains the original appearance.
