Introduction to the library
As a key project of Beijing municipal government and an important part of the protection of Beijing's Imperial City in Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Imperial City Art Museum began to be built in early 2002, and the main building was completed in September of the same year. In October 2002, Comrade Jiang Zemin, then general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the people's Republic of China and chairman of the Central Military Commission, inspected the Huangcheng Art Museum in preparation and personally inscribed the name of the museum. On June 20, 2003, the Imperial City Museum of art held a grand opening ceremony, officially opening to the outside world.
Since its opening, the Imperial City Museum of art has hosted many historical and cultural theme exhibitions, such as the exhibition of imperial city customs, the exhibition of historical and cultural pictures of Beijing, Picasso Forbidden City Picasso Beijing Art Exhibition and Picasso fashion art season, the retrospective exhibition of Jean Michel Basquet's paper works, and 400 years of Italian painting Many large-scale international cultural exchange exhibitions, such as the Great Renaissance masters' original works exhibition in Dali, have received more than 300000 visitors at home and abroad, including leaders at all levels, experts from all walks of life and international friends. They have compiled a variety of books, which have played a certain role in filling the academic gap of domestic imperial city research, carrying forward the national spirit, spreading Beijing culture, and displaying world classic art effect.
It opened to the outside world in 2003. Taking the history and culture of the Imperial City as the theme, it comprehensively displays the local government offices, temples, hutongs, imperial warehouses, gardens and other customs of the Ming and Qing Dynasties in Beijing. The shape of the art museum is traditional residential buildings, with a construction area of 4500 square meters and an exhibition area of 2500 square meters. The basic exhibition is "imperial city culture and customs Exhibition", which takes the historical relics of Ming and Qing Dynasties as the main line. Through the display of cultural relics and materials, it reproduces the imperial city culture of the past, such as architecture, temple, imperial treasury, water system, guard, drama, breeding, manufacturing, marketplace, etc. The exhibition items include "architecture and regulation", "temple culture of the imperial city", "office and Hutong of the imperial city", "clothing", "water system of the imperial city", "imperial city guard", "tribute", "breeding culture of the Imperial City (mainly displaying" pigeon raising "series)" and "manufacturing culture of the Imperial City (furniture series)". The exhibits include the picture scroll of Kangxi's southern tour, the picture scroll of Guangxu's wedding archives collected by zhangyisi, jade inscriptions of past dynasties, golden chamber with royal archives, classical furniture of Ming and Qing Dynasties and ornamental pigeons. The collection includes silver blue telescope, transparent enamel brocade bottle, copper gold-plated hollow Ruyi, enamel bat longevity pattern box, enamel lucky gourd bottle, copper gold-plated Japanese horn box, etc. The Museum of art has held exhibitions such as the historical and cultural picture exhibition of old Beijing city and Picasso Art Exhibition of the Forbidden City.
