Astronomy and calendar is a natural science summed up by the ancestors of Tibetan people in their long-term production and life practice, and it is an important part of Tibetan culture. It has a long history, rich literature, and distinctive national characteristics. It is widely used in the actual life of Tibetan people, and has an important impact on the agriculture and animal husbandry in Tibetan areas. Astronomical calendar calculation has a direct relationship with Tibetan medicine. Through long-term practice, the Tibetan people have come to the dialectical statement that "there is medicine when there is calculation, and there is medicine when there is medicine". For example, through mastering the external climate change and the operation law of the five elements, they can diagnose and treat diseases, collect and process medicinal materials, etc. That is, in today's highly developed science and technology, it still has the value of learning, research and utilization and irreplaceable role. We should inherit and carry forward our national culture, continue to excavate the profound connotation of astronomical calendar, strive to improve and constantly improve it, so as to make it more suitable for the needs of contemporary society, so as to benefit the society and the broad masses of the people.
