Beijing jiehu bridge is located at the boundary between the inner and outer lakes of Kunming Lake and Houxi River in the summer palace. It is the northernmost bridge of the West Bank. The bridge was built in 1750, burned by the British and French invaders in 1860, and rebuilt by Empress Dowager Cixi in 1886. In the era of Qingyi Garden, the bridge was called Liu Bridge, while the Liu Bridge at the south end of the West Bank was called jiehu bridge. When the summer palace was rebuilt, the names of the two bridges changed.

"The levee is long across the East and West, and the six bridges are divided into inner and outer lakes.". Jiehu bridge is the first of the six bridges on the West Bank, with three square openings. In the north of the bridge, there was a road leading to Dexing hall and Xigong gate, connecting with xiruyi gate and Houshan. Qiaoxi's original water village residence, weaving and dyeing Bureau and other scenic spots have become the flower bed of the summer palace. In the southeast of the bridge, there are some waterfront buildings, such as dashuanwu and Xiaosuzhou street. Standing on the bridge, you can see the Banbi bridge, which is like a crescent moon reflecting on the river water. Its sightseeing environment is elegant and pleasant.
Jiehu bridge is 31.43 meters long, 6.52 meters at the widest part of the bridge, 4.28 meters at the narrowest part, and 5.84 meters high. There are 20 steps on both sides of the bridge, and 27 railings on both sides of the bridge
