Shenlu is the first scenic spot of Ming Tombs, which is composed of stone archway, dahongmen, stele tower, stone Xiangsheng, dragon and Phoenix gate, etc.
Stone archway, it is the largest existing stone archway in China, all of which are imitation wood structure, with five rooms, six columns and eleven floors.
The Great Red Gate, like the palace gate, has a dismount tablet on each side, which engraves: "officials and people wait to dismount here", which is a symbol of the supreme imperial power.
There is an 8.1-meter-high stele with a dragon head and tortoise missing inside. On the outside of the stele is an inscription written by Zhu gaochi, Emperor Renzong of the Ming Dynasty, with more than 3000 words. On the inside of the stele is an inscription of Emperor Qianlong's "thirty rhymes of mourning Ming mausoleum". On the east side of the stele is an imperial poem written in the 52nd year of Emperor Qianlong, and on the west side is an imperial poem written in the 9th year of emperor Jiaqing of emperor Renzong of the Qing Dynasty.
At the four corners of the pavilion, there is a white jade watch on each side. At the top of the watch, there is a beast on each side. The one facing the south is called Wangjun. Those who face the north are called Wangjun GUI. Each watch is engraved with 41 dragons.
Large stone carvings are arranged in the north of the pavilion. Two pillars, two lions, two pairs of standing, two camels, two pairs of standing camels, two pairs of standing horses, two pairs of melon armour, two pairs of men, and two stars to the north, and the north gate with three doors and six columns, also known as the flame arch *, commonly known as the dragon and Phoenix gate.
Xiangsheng is diligent in modeling and fine in carving. It has high cultural relics and artistic value.
