Yanzhishan Forest Park

Yanzhi mountain, also known as "Yanzhi mountain", is located 45 kilometers southeast of Shandan County. It is said that there is a kind of plant called red and blue grass growing on the mountain, which can be made into red dye. After mixing with oil, it can be used as rouge, so it is named Yanzhi mountain, and is rated as provincial forest park. Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty once ordered envoys of 27 countries in the western regions to hold "World Expo".

Yanzhi mountain is located in the peak waist area of Hexi Corridor, known as "sweet and cool throat" since ancient times. On the mountain, there are forests, pines, boundless blue waves, ravines and clear springs. In the hinterland, deer, sheep and other wild animals come and go. There are two cultural buildings on the mountain, the Jade Emperor Temple and the Zhongshan temple. The Jade Emperor Temple is the seat of Shandan County Taoist Association. The main peak of Yanzhi mountain is Maomao mountain, with the highest altitude of 3978 m, which is an independent mountain after Qilian Mountain. It is suggested to play when the weather is warm from May to August.

Development history

Yanzhishan Forest Park is a provincial forest park approved by the Forestry Department of Gansu Province in 1993. It is located in the Dahuangshan forest area 50 kilometers south of Shandan County. It is a tourist area based on natural scenery. Yanzhi mountain peaks rise from the ground, cliff straight into the sky, rock like axe cutting, wall like forest; around the mountains and ravines, jagged rocks, stone streams murmur, such as Ming huanpei, cliff peak pines and cypresses green, green to drop; valley bottom green trees and vines, uneven.
