May 4th Park
May fourth park is located on the side of Yanshan Road overpass in Mawei District of Fuzhou City, covering an area of 2.5 mu. It was originally a barren hill. In 1983, the people's Government of Mawei District appropriated 25000 yuan to build a wall with an arch at the entrance and the word "May 4th Park" written on it. There is an ancient banyan in the garden, with twigs and flowers.
In 1984, pavilions were built for visitors to have a rest and talk. In February 1985, it invested 25000 yuan to buy a white horse sculpture. It is made of reinforced concrete. The horse's body is 4 meters long. The horse's head is 7 meters away from the base. It is a symbol of the enterprising spirit of the people in Mawei. In 1997, due to the construction of Jiangbin Road, the park was transformed. A total of 40 trees and 974 shrubs were planted, with 1680 square meters of lawn, 70 meters of hedgerow and 3 groups of rockery.
