Shangjing site museum, Bohai Sea, Heilongjiang Province
Bohai Town, Ning'an City, Heilongjiang Province is the most well preserved ancient medieval city site in China. It is one of the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units announced by the State Council of the people's Republic of China on March 4, 1961. In February 1985, the State Council approved the establishment of the Shangjing site museum in Bohai, Heilongjiang Province, which is responsible for the protection, research and display of the Shangjing site and its unearthed cultural relics. Longquanfu site in Shangjing of Bohai State is located in Ning'an City, Heilongjiang Province. Bohai State is a local national power established by the Tang Dynasty in Northeast China, which was canonized by the Tang Dynasty in 713 AD and destroyed by Khitan in 926 ad.
Collection
The museum was established in June 1985 with the approval of Heilongjiang provincial government. Under the leadership of the provincial cultural relics management committee, it was changed to the leadership of the Cultural Bureau of Ning'an County in 1992.
The present building is the wuchong Hall of Xinglong temple built in Qing Dynasty. Four exhibition rooms are set up to display more than 200 pieces of Bohai cultural relics. The planned Zhongxin Museum covers an area of 60000 square meters, which is divided into three areas: East, middle, West and East. The east area is the exhibition hall and office area; the middle area is the simulated royal garden; and the west area is the miniature Palace City imitating Tang architecture. Among them, the exhibition hall in the east district is 800 square meters of Tang style architecture.
Collection research
There are 451 cultural relics in Shangjing Site Museum of Bohai Sea in Heilongjiang Province, most of which are Bohai building materials and Buddhist articles unearthed from Shangjing site.
The museum is engaged in the study of the history of the Bohai Sea, the protection of the Shangjing site in the Bohai Sea and the study of unearthed cultural relics, and publishes a brief introduction to the longquanfu site in Shangjing, the Bohai Sea.
