The city square is composed of flag raising square, Sunbird square and South Square.
Around the Sunbird, there will be eight large-scale three-dimensional rose patterns composed of roses and roses. These eight rose patterns will also form a large-scale three-dimensional flower bed with a diameter of 39 meters. Introduction to Sunbird
One day in the spring of 1973, an agricultural technician named Meng Fangping found several pieces of pottery with traces on the construction site of a factory dormitory in the northern suburb of Shenyang. Meng Fangping sent these strange pieces of pottery to the Department of cultural relics. After experts' identification, they came from the remote prehistoric times. Later, the cultural relics department carried out excavation in this place called Xinle factory, and found a Neolithic ancient human cultural site, which was named Xinle site by archaeologists.
Judging from the cultural relics excavated, human activities began as early as 7200 years ago in Shenyang. In the long prehistoric times, how did the ancient people live here? What material civilizations did they create? What position does it occupy in Chinese civilization? Archaeologists try to find out through the Xinle site.
"The Xinle site now covers an area of nearly 4000 square meters. More than 40 semi crypt dwelling sites have been found, including three large houses of more than 90 square meters. Through the excavation of these houses, we have a preliminary understanding that the social marriage status of this site at that time should still be in the stage of group marriage or transition to dual marriage. "
Inside a house site, cultural relics workers found a wood carving. Some people said it was carved with animals, others said it was carved with birds, so Shenyang people called it Sunbird wood carving. What's more surprising is that this wood carving has been scientifically tested and proved to be 7200 years old. For the purpose of this woodcarving, some people think it is the totem of the tribe at that time, or the symbol of the power of the female tribal leaders. Continue to stack until the end of wood carving.
In the Xinle site, a large number of pottery and stone tools were excavated. The pottery is exquisitely made and covered with fine patterns. It can be inferred from the stone mill that Xinle people have planted a large number of grains such as corn.
We imitated some pottery made by Xinyue people 7200 years ago. At that time, the slow wheel of pottery had not been invented, and all of them were made by the method of making clay strips or sticking pieces. It was only around 5000 years ago that the rotation system became popular among prehistoric people in China, and this method continues to this day.
The Sunbird woodcarvings unearthed from Xinle site are decorated with exquisite patterns from top to bottom. Every grain on the woodcarvings is exquisitely depicted. As far as 7000 years ago, people had not invented metal smelting, let alone metal carving knives. So, what kind of tools do Xinle people use to carve?
With the deepening of excavation, many finely polished jade carving knives were unearthed in the site. The sharp edges of these stone knives and jade knives are very similar to the carving tools at that time. The cultural relic workers imitated a jade knife and carved a Sunbird pattern on the wood. Judging from the sharpness of jade knives, it is very likely that Xinle people made their handicrafts in this way 7200 years ago.
The woodcarving of Sunbird found in Xinle site was completely carbonized when it was unearthed. At that time, the wood carving was burned for some unknown reason. Maybe the burned wood carving can no longer be used as the totem of the tribe. So people threw it in the corner, buried it in the soil, and gradually carbonized it. Only in this way can it be preserved for 7000 years. According to archaeological findings, Xinle people at that time were able to use tools to produce fire, which is very similar to the records of drilling wood to make fire in ancient Chinese books.
From the Xinle site, there are also some pottery oblique mouthparts, which have been burned repeatedly. Such oblique mouthpiece is rare in the cultural sites of the same period in China. Archaeological experts believe that the oblique mouthpiece was used by Xinle people to store fire in the cave. Maybe the skewed mouthpiece also played some role in the later stove. If the hypothesis is true, this is the earliest stove of human beings.
The discovery of Xinle site provides another example for investigating the formation of ancient Chinese civilization.
Maybe 7000 years has made people feel some magical power. Shenyang people regard the ancient wood carving as a Sunbird that brings light, erect it in the center of the municipal government square, and use it as the symbol of Shenyang City.
In the South Square, the emblem of a large-scale international horticultural exposition will be composed of five color grass, golden fireworks, Saussurea, four seasons Begonia and other flowers
