Brief introduction of Songpu Yanghang
Within the extension line of the building edge on the West and north sides of the building is the key protection area; the sidewalk near the street is the general protection area; and within 30 meters around the key protection area and the general protection area is the construction control area.
Architectural history
Matsuura opened in 1909. Therefore, the Education Bookstore can be regarded as the landmark of Central Street no matter from the time of building construction or the artistic style of the building itself. Together with other buildings, such as matiel Hotel, Daoli Qiulin, women's and children's shop, it creates and influences the style of central street and the whole city. At first, the Education Bookstore was Japan's Matsuura foreign company. The Russian expatriate association also occupied the building. After liberation, it used to be a foreign language bookstore. Now it is the Education Bookstore of Xinhua bookstore. The history of architecture is very long, and its use function has also changed. However, what remains unchanged is the incomparable charm of architecture.
Layout features
Central street is full of merchants, so it is impossible for the building to stretch out like Nangang Qiulin company. Instead, it has a relatively compact layout. So is the Education Bookstore. The second side of the building faces the street, the facade is treated with emphasis, the corner is emphasized, and the top is crowned with Renaissance dome, which sets off the street landscape well. The main entrance of the building is selected at the corner, which is convenient for the collection and distribution of people. Because the width of the two wings of the building is not large, there is no secondary entrance along the street, and the building opens to the inner courtyard, which is convenient for the staff to go in and out, and disperses different flows of people without interfering with each other. This layout is relatively reasonable.
Entering the building from the main entrance, there is a small double wooden porch facing the building. You can walk up a few steps to enter the building. This method of moving the steps from the outdoor to the indoor is to meet the needs of the small-scale environment on the central street. If the steps are outside, it will occupy a certain depth, and the building will inevitably retreat; if the building does not retreat, it will occupy the street space, so moving the steps from the outdoor to the indoor is the best method of both worlds. Facing the main entrance is the main staircase leading to the second floor space. The staircase is three fold type. The cast iron curved railings are twined like growing plants. The terrazzo steps are inlaid with dark clover pattern, which is simple and elegant. Coupled with dark chestnut wood wainscot, exquisite gypsum relief lamp ring and elegant lighting, the deep temperament of the building arises spontaneously. Different from some commercial buildings which win with gorgeous colors and exaggerated shapes, educational bookstores create elegant atmosphere with their quiet colors and simple decoration.
Another interesting aspect of the building plan is that you can only reach the second floor of the building by following the main staircase opposite to the main entrance, and you need to enter from the side staircase if you want to reach the third to fifth floor of the building. Today's layout of Education Bookstore is 1-2 floors open to readers, and 3-5 floors belong to other office buildings. Therefore, people may wonder: "the building looks like it has five floors, why it only has two floors when it comes in?" Understand its plane layout, will not be surprised.
Building evaluation
Anyone who has watched the building will find it hard to let go of its beautiful shape. In terms of appearance, the building has obvious Baroque features: Marble portrait pillars above the main entrance, huge hanging Corinthian pilasters connecting three to four floors, free scroll curve broken mountain flowers, exquisite relief decoration above the window openings and protruding semicircular calyx shaped balcony. The whole building is permeated with Baroque strange and vivid effects and changeable light and shadow.
internal structure
The building has five floors (including the top Pavilion floor). The facade can be divided into four levels:
① The bottom layer adopts the composition of deep color wall and large area window, and the light gray tone is used above the second layer;
② The second floor of the building is mainly characterized by simple round forehead rectangular windows, which are carved with delicate thread feet; marble portrait columns are decorated above the main entrance at the corner, one male and one female, with beautiful posture, which is a typical baroque symbolism to add romantic atmosphere to the building; while the building along the direction of Central Street adopts long large-area glass windows, reflecting some features of modern architecture features;
③ The third to fourth floors of the building are decorated with Collins pilasters, each with two rectangular windows with round forehead as a group, and the windows are decorated with rich decoration. 3、 The window decorations on the fourth floor are different. At first glance, the window decorations on the third floor look like a big bellied frog crouching on a flower leaf. The bas relief is exquisite, while the windows on the fourth floor are decorated with simple threads. The two windows have the same scale, so they are both varied and unified. The corner is also treated with emphasis. The semicircle window on the fourth floor in the center of the corner is decorated with curvilinear scroll shaped broken mountain flowers, the center of the mountain flowers is decorated with exquisite flower leaf relief, and the narrow pilaster head is decorated with free spiral curve, which has the characteristics of "new art". The most exquisite is the arc-shaped calyx shaped balcony under the window, which is strange and beautiful, just like the blooming buds. The protruding cast iron curved railings, with the theme of blooming flowers, also contain the factor of "new art";
④ On the top floor of the building, there is a half story attic layer. The red sheet iron roof of mengsha has tiger windows, which is integrated with the room with the same red tone. The hemispherical Renaissance dome ended with a Russian style "onion" dome, which became a composite dome. As an important composition element, the dome has become an indispensable harmonious component of the central street architecture. Different forms and styles of the dome echo each other, forming a unique landscape.
Today, people walk along the old stone road on the central street. The simple and young style of the Education Bookstore still attracts people's attention. It is a witness of the historical changes of the central street and will continue to watch the development and changes of the central street.
Central Street
Central street, starting from Songhua River Flood Control Monument in the north and Jingwei street in the south, is 1450 meters long and 21.34 meters wide. Among them, the width of vehicular square stone road is 10.8 meters. There are 71 European style and imitation European style buildings in the street, including 13 protective buildings.
In 1986, Harbin Municipal People's government designated central street as Baobao street. In August 1996, the municipal government decided to transform it into a pedestrian street, which was officially opened on June 1, 1997. It is one of the earliest pedestrian streets in China. The total length of the pedestrian street is 860 meters, with 6 leisure areas. The sidewalks on both sides are paved with nearly 5000 square meters of square bricks, 2500 square meters of color footpath boards, and 500 meters of wheelchair access is paved from Da'an street to Dongfeng Street. The reconstructed pedestrian street has beautiful environment and good order. With its unique European architecture, exquisite and elegant plaque advertising, European classical street lamps, colorful leisure community and colorful cultural life, it has become a beautiful landscape in Harbin. (origin of street name)
Central street was built in 1896. In June 1898, the Middle East Railway broke ground in Harbin. In the autumn of the same year, thousands of road builders from Shandong and Hebei settled in today's central street. They built mud for walls and grass for sheds. So the street had her first and most vivid name
Chinese street. Before the Middle East Railway was opened to traffic in 1903, the goods needed by Harbin were basically transported by Songhua River. Tongjiangkou (the section of today's flood control memorial tower) of China street is the wharf of that year. In this way, China street became the port of golden waterway and the most prosperous place in Harbin at that time. In 1925, the Chinese government took back the municipal power of Harbin and changed the name of China street to central street. Time goes by and things go up and down. During the "Cultural Revolution" in 1968, central street was renamed "anti renovation Street". In 1976, its name was restored to central street. As a historical witness, this old street has witnessed the vicissitudes of a century and the rise and fall of honor and Disgrace in Harbin.
The Russo Japanese war between 1904 and 1905 made Harbin the rear base of the Russian army. The huge demand for military products is objective_ I_ It has led to the initial prosperity of Harbin and the economic and architectural development of China street. During the 20 years of Russian rule in Harbin, Chinese streets were the most deeply influenced by the West in terms of architectural style and economic pattern. (street stones in Central Street)
In the beginning, some sections of China street were seriously frost boiling. At the turn of spring and summer, the road is like a sponge, and the vehicles walk on it. Even the workers who built the road were troubled. Rework every year, turn the oar every year, and pay a lot of silver for nothing. However, there is a Wulin monk who shows off his plum blossom pile skills in the river and lake. He made thousands of round wooden piles, which are two or three meters long, sharp at one end and row by row along the road. Then he nailed them into the soil layer, and then covered them with gravel
