Shangzhi Park

Before liberation, it was a green land dominated by elms. In 1958, Xiangfang people's commune decided to transform this area into Xiangfang Park, and implemented the construction project of simple wooden fence, two ancient pavilions and planting some shrubs. After more than 40 years of construction and development, Xiangfang park became one of the first-class parks in Heilongjiang Province in the 1990s. It was famous for holding many lantern fairs.
brief introduction
In 1997, with the approval of the municipal Party committee, Xiangfang Park in Harbin was renamed Shangzhi park. At the same time, a signboard was built in chenggaozi Town, where Zhao Shangzhi had fought, "General Zhao Shangzhi overthrows the ruins of the Japanese army.". This is an important part of a series of activities to solemnly commemorate the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people's war of resistance against Japanese aggression and the world anti fascist war.
In 1997, the Xiangfang District Party committee and the Xiangfang District government created a two meter high FRP statue of Zhao Shangzhi in Xiangfang park. However, due to the fact that Zhao Shangzhi's photos and other historical materials had not been found at that time, the appearance of the statue was not recognized by his family, the old soldiers of the Anti Japanese Federation who had fought together and the masses concerned only by the oral statements of some insiders.
After the name of Xiangfang park is changed to Shangzhi Park, on the basis of maintaining its original functions, it will become a theme park with the important content of paying respect to and remembering General Zhao Shangzhi. A 4-meter-high bronze statue of General Zhao Shangzhi will be rebuilt at the original statue in the park. The base is 2.3 meters high. The gold-plated characters "Anti Japanese national hero Zhao Shangzhi" are written on the base. The inscriptions and inscriptions are inscribed by the old soldiers of the Anti Japanese Federation. In order to trace the historical origin, a large granite is planned to be taken from Shangzhi City as the landmark stone of "Shangzhi Park". It is understood that the project will be completed by the end of July.
