Baohu Park

Baohu, located in baofuqiao village, Liangtian Town, Jinfeng District, Yinchuan City, is a national wetland park. It covers an area of nearly 1000 mu, including more than 500 mu of water surface. It is a lake in the city of Yinchuan, connected with the big and small West Lakes. It is adjacent to Tanglai canal in the East, Zhengyuan South Street in the west, Yinxin railway special line in the north, and Baoqing West Road in the south. It is named after the legend of Yuanbao and golden horse in the lake. It is oval in shape. Baohu lake is wide and deep, with a maximum depth of more than 2 meters. The water color is light blue. The lake is surrounded by reeds and connected with the island. When people in Yinchuan are free, they all like to go here to watch birds and fish.

There are two sources for the name of baohu: one is that the lake looks like a silver shining treasure, so it is called "baohu"; the other is that there are treasures in the lake, which is the most precious one among the 72 lakes in Ningxia, so it is called "baohu".
