Expo Park of Northwest A & F University
The Expo Park covers an area of 200 mu, with a total construction area of more than 16000 square meters. It includes five professional museums, including Yifu science and Technology Museum, animal museum and insect museum, soil museum, plant museum and China Agricultural History Museum, butterfly garden, plant classification garden, arboretum and a variety of germplasm resources garden. It is an important subject base integrating teaching, scientific research and popular science.
At the 2018 Northwest China Tourism Marketing Conference and tourism equipment exhibition, he was shortlisted in the list of "100 wonders of Northwest China".
Introduction to Museum
In 2006, with the opening of the above four pavilions and the basic completion of the outdoor arboretum, the Expo Park will truly become an important science and education base integrating teaching, scientific research and popular science education, as well as a science and technology tourist attraction integrating Specimen Exhibition, garden appreciation, tourism and leisure.
Founder of Expo Park
Zhou Yao, an entomologist, was a professor, director of Institute of Entomology, director of Entomology Museum of Northwest A & F University from 1939 to 2008. He also served as the director of Entomological Society of China, honorary president of Shaanxi entomological society, member of organizing committee of the 9th International entomological Congress, member of the central Consultative Committee of 93 society, member of the 6th and 7th CPPCC committees, and member of San Marino Academician of the International Academy of Sciences of the people's Republic of China. He founded the Entomological Museum, entomological journal, Institute of Entomology, Zhou Yao Entomological Research Award Foundation, butterfly branch of Entomological Society of China and other great achievements, which won honors for the school in the whole country.

Construction facilities
Insect Museum
In 2003, it invested 15 million yuan to build a new exhibition hall in the prosperous area of Yangling Demonstration Area, with an exhibition area of more than 3600 square meters. It also built a greenhouse and a net room of 3300 square meters, raising butterflies and other live insects for the audience to watch. With a total construction area of more than 10000 square meters, the insect museum phase III has become the largest and most comprehensive insect museum in the world. It is a comprehensive discipline base integrating scientific research, specimen collection, talent training and popular science education. It has been successively named as "China Youth Science and technology innovation action education base", "Shaanxi Youth Education Base" and "Shaanxi Youth Education Base" It has been awarded the titles of "science popularization education base in western province" and "national science popularization education base".
Animal Museum
Before the establishment of Northwest A & F University, the former Northwest A & F University and other seven units accumulated more than 8000 extremely precious animal specimens through the unremitting efforts of several generations in their respective decades of teaching, scientific research and promotion. After the establishment of Northwest A & F University of science and technology, in order to make full use of the integrated resource advantages and better play its important role in teaching, scientific research and popular science, the university decided to build an animal museum. The project was funded by the 15th grant university project of Shaw foundation project. The total construction area is more than 4300 square meters, and more than 8000 precious specimens are collected. According to the overall exhibition content of the animal museum, the animal museum is divided into eight exhibition halls: the origin of life and animal evolution exhibition hall, rare animal exhibition hall, pet and Ornamental Animal exhibition hall, animal structure and function exhibition hall, animal breeding and human civilization exhibition hall, animal disease and Human Health Exhibition hall, animal production and ecological environment exhibition hall, and Animal Biotechnology Exhibition Hall.
Plant soil museum
Botanical Museum
The Botanical Museum of Northwest A & F University was built on the basis of the herbarium of Northwest Institute of Botany of Northwest A & F University. The herbarium was founded in 1936. It has collected more than 550000 plant specimens collected from northwest, North and southwest China since 1920s. It is one of the most abundant herbarium in China. It is also the largest herbarium with the longest history in Northwest China. The collection of specimens in this herbarium is not only extremely rich in plant species, covering all groups from lichens, mosses, ferns, gymnosperms to angiosperms, but also collected all over the country, especially in Qinling Mountains and Loess Plateau. Its richness and current collection value are well-known at home and abroad, and there are more than 300 plant type specimens, including plant species There are more than 30000 photos. The herbarium has published and participated in the compilation of Botanical Monographs such as flora of China, flora of Qinling, flora of Loess Plateau, flora of China, flora of Tanyang District of China, flora geography of North China, etc., which plays an important role in the botanical research of Qinling, Loess Plateau and even northwest China.
Soil museum
The soil museum has collected typical soil profiles from different parts of the country collected by soil scientists in the past half century, including whole section specimens, micro box specimens and morphological specimens reflecting the evolution process of soil. In addition, there are many photos and written materials reflecting the soil characteristics of other countries in the world.
The soil museum is divided into four exhibition halls, namely: (1) the hall of soil formation and evolution; (2) the hall of soil classification and distribution in China; (3) the hall of main soil profiles between China and the world; (4) the hall of soil environment and human relations.
Agricultural History Museum
The exhibition area of China Agricultural History Museum is 4000 square meters. According to the historical order, it is divided into six parts: "Department of primitive agriculture", "Department of three generations agriculture", "Department of Han and Tang agriculture", "Department of song and Yuan agriculture", "Department of Ming and Qing agriculture" and "Department of modern agriculture". It systematically and comprehensively shows the basic context and brilliant achievements of China's agricultural history development. At present, it is the most systematic agricultural history museum in China. China Agricultural History Museum is also the largest agricultural science and technology and historical and cultural Grand View Garden in China. Together with insect museum, animal museum, soil museum and plant museum, it has become five unique flowers in the Expo Garden.
Arboretum
The arboretum covers an area of nearly 100 mu. There are 603 species belonging to 281 genera of 98 families in northern and southern China. Among them, there are 10 species belonging to 8 genera of 7 families under national class I protection, such as Davidia involucrata, a national treasure tree at home and abroad, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, a living fossil that grew on the earth hundreds of millions of years ago, Taxus chinensis, Taxus mairei and Qinghai Tibet Plateau In Shaanxi Province, there are 16 species of 16 genera and 16 families of key protected wild tree species, including Acer Miaotai, Abies qinlingensis, Syringa pinnatifida, Arnebia amurensis, Magnolia officinalis, Dalbergia odorifera, etc. There are 22 species belonging to 21 genera and 17 families endemic to China: Eucommia ulmoides Oliv., tung oil tree, laogualing, hazelnut, Pterocarpus tatarinowii, Populus Taibai, etc.
Butterfly Garden
Butterfly garden is the outdoor display part of the insect museum, covering an area of 3300 square meters. It is currently the largest butterfly flying garden in China. There are more than 20 kinds of host plants, 30 kinds of honey plants and 10 kinds of ornamental plants in butterfly garden. Most of the host plants and nectar plants come from Qinling Mountains, Bashan mountains, Guangxi, Yunnan, Hainan, Anhui and other natural habitats.
Special botanical garden
There are Chinese herbal medicine garden, grain garden, peony garden, vineyard, tropical plant greenhouse, herb flower garden, perennial flower garden and other plant germplasm resources garden in the Expo Garden. Among them, the Chinese herbal medicine garden covers an area of 2277 square meters. 87 species of common medicinal plants in 37 families are cultivated and preserved, including 9 species in 9 families of woody plants and 78 species in 32 families of herbs. With the complex changes of human society and living environment in the 21st century, many difficult and miscellaneous diseases are more and more entangled with human beings, and the "panacea" - Chinese herbal medicine, which originated from nature, has been more and more favored by the people on earth and the world, especially the pharmaceutical circles in developed countries.
