Zhangzi Island

Sculpture of goddess of the sea

Every year, the 13th day of the first month is the birthday of the goddess of the sea. The 6.8-meter-high statue of the goddess of the sea is carved from a single piece of white marble. It is said that the goddess of the sea is the daughter of the Dragon King. One day, in a stormy night, she saved Shifu and Shixiu fishermen's father and son in the sea, and guided them to this treasure island with a lotus lamp. When they came to the island, they were very surprised. The island was covered with water deer, and the sea was full of fat and big fish and shrimp. So the father and son settled down and lived a rich life. The goddess of the sea rescued the fishermen to the treasure island many times. The fishermen worshiped her and believed in her.

People on the island believe in geomantic omen and think that the wealth is brought by the olecranon stone, which they call "lucky stone".

The stone path on the top of the mountain twists and turns down in the woods to the eagle's beak stone by the sea. The mountains are full of thick oak trees and colorful maple trees. When the autumn wind comes, it is a picture of red mountains and dyed forests.

It is said that master Jiang and his wife were originally the golden maids around the Jade Emperor, who specially served the Jade Emperor. They never dare to show their love for each other. One day, the Jade Emperor fell asleep after drinking. They both went out of the palace and came to the world. They built a thatched cottage on the edge of the East China Sea and lived a couple's life. The man changed his name to Jiang Dehai, and the woman did not change her name, so they called her mother-in-law Jiang. They were kind to each other and respected each other. They had a beautiful childhood.

As soon as the Jade Emperor wakes up, it has been 7749 years. When he disappeared, he scattered people and horses to search around. I searched the whole heavenly palace, but I didn't see anyone. On the spot, Yang Erlang was ordered to run to the world with his heavenly soldiers and generals.

Yang Erlang ordered the Dragon King of Donghai to lead the shrimp soldiers and crab generals to launch a flood and chase north. When Jiang Dehai saw something bad, he took up his wife and ran away. After running all day and all night, I was tired and thirsty and couldn't run any more. Yang Erlang is catching up with the generals and is about to arrest people. He is surprised to see that the old golden girl has become an old man and an old woman. Since then, the land has become a vast ocean, trapping a loving couple forever in the boundless ocean. For a long time, the couple turned into two stone lumps and stood in the sea day and night. Looking at their old and indignant appearance, a sad legend spread in the world.
